I'm putting together a plan to run a Mac Mini and xbox in my car for music/videos/games.

97.25% of the use will be my passengers.. BUT, I would like to be able to have a screen viewable to the driver (possible navigation, etc). Since I don't plan on using this a whole lot as the driver, I don't need touchscreen, and don't really need to go through the trouble of modding my dash for one, so what other options are there?

--dual flip-down screens (one for front people, one for back)
--small LCD mounted/fitted into dash in front of the frontseat passenger + rear flip-down for the back passengers.

What have others done for front-seat video without placing it in-dash? Also, do CA laws restrict having a screen visible to the driver? Or only if it's playing TV (i.e. could I get away with just running the computer on it.
