Default LCD touch screen in tC stereo location

I'm devising a system that will incorporate an LCD touch screen, where i would like to put in the existing stereo location on mt tC. I have looked through other posts, of which seems like people were talking about the xB. For those that have installed the lcd screen in that location, can u still use the panel that closes over that location? Which screen did u use?

I took approx. specs, it seems like the location can house a 4.5" x 8" monitor?
lilliput has a 7" monitor w/ 194x122x26mm
xenarc 7" - Dimension (in): 7.75W x 4.75H x 1.38D

any modifications needed to make the screen fit?

Do you have the NAV with that unit? If so, where'd you put the external NAV thingie? I'm debating between that unit and the eclipse unit. I'm leaning towards the eclipse because of it being self contained, but the fact that the kenwood has the 6v preouts and the eclipse only being .8v is kinda bugging me.

The Kenwood is definelty a hot choice, that is what i'm going with, and as far as the glove compartment goes, i'm taking that s**t our and puttin in my Xbox and other things. Should look nice! But yeah Kenwood Excelon has the good stuff!

so am i understanding correctly that no one has found a stand alone touch screen monitor that will fit nicely in the current stereo location. I am NOT looking for a combo unit as I am attempting to build my own "carputer." I am simply looking for a screen at this point that fits under the scion flip panel.

thanks, any info will help

Nope, no nav... When I bought mine i got it for 900 bucks off ebay and could not find the eclipse for the same price, or else I would have gone with the eclipse.

Enkidu, I'm loving the car! Does this unit have 1 disc drive or 2? Because I would hate to keep swtiching from movies to mp3 cds. It looks great? Does the cover fit snug or factory like?

Anyone have a Pioneer AVIC-N1? Can it be mounted in a way that allows the stock lid to close? i am considering this as an option and being able to close the stock door would be helpful
