sounds good to me :) i've never actually been to that area really...but let's all keep putting out suggestions for a final stop and picture taking op. Once we have enough suggestions.....discuss and i'll try to decide if it seems people have a consensus as to what they want.

As for a coast cruise...should we go on PCH wherever it starts up? it might be a problem though with traffic lights if we have like 30 cars by that time...some might get left behind a bit. we'll work out the logistics later :)

I'd like to do it in mid-december but since not that many people have responded so far, i'd say that is unlikely. I was hoping at leats 30 before the event. Obviously..more would be better. I live near the 5fwy, 118fwy, 405fwy... it would be cool to get alot of people to meet. The only problem there will be is getting a place to meet with enough parking. Sundays are prob the best days to meet only cuase alot of the places are closed so parking spots are available. As far as a date goes... December is already hectic with a lot of people only becuase its the whole holiday thing but January sounds great for me. I can get all my SDG's to go cuase some live in San Diego! :) Hope to get more details on this :)

So first order of business......preliminary waypoints...basically places we'll stop along the way to pick up people. I couldn't find a service where i could put the waypoints on a map...i'll try to find something though.

So......Those are the only places i know of personally and to which I could lead the pack to. I suggest that if somebody knows a place to meet somewhere in San Clemente, get an address and put it up in the forum and I'll add it. Obviously...as more people join, we'll have to modify the meeting places so it's convenient for everybody. Also, I'm willing to lead everybody all the way up to Irvine...after that, I'm not too familiar with the area so somebody else will have to lead. We'll figure out logistics later in terms of how we will stay together (e.g. drive slow, stay in the second lane from the left, etc.).

Other than that, those of you in LA, come to a consensus as to where would be a good place to meet and let me know. Then i'll modify the list. When we come up with a final route, I'll print up maps and directions for everybody and hand them out at the meeting points. ok...hope this works out in the end! Let me know if you ahve any suggestions :)

I"M thinking that we go up to LA on the 5 and then pick up people in orange county via 405 or 5, then drive up the coast to LA? or we could just "freeway it" all the way up to LA and then pick up the rest of the people before cruising along the beach. we still have time to plan...but i think mid jan is still better cuz people might be gone during new years. comments?

Depending on how many vehicles are in the cruise it would be difficult on PCH with the traffic lights. Might be better to use the freeway and pick a large place for the final destination. Just a thought.

ok......this is good...18 people is not bad. So.....for those of you who said you would tell ur respective peeps about when and where this is taking place...let's set the date for January 15th. If anyone has any HUGE objections to this date....please let me know....we can switch it to the 22nd. I'm just setting a date so people can start planning.

I also can't set up the meeting points until more people sign up and agree on what the best place to meet for each respective area is. It seems like SD is pretty much given though....we'll just meet where we always meet on Saturdays. For those in orange county, our first stop looks like it will definitely be at the In-n-out across from UCI. As for LA, i'm totally clueless as to where the best place to meet is. If we need 2 places to meet, then you guys discuss amongst urselves on this forum as to where you think the best places are. I will be of no help.

Also, Pixiedixie and I have been talking about various possibilities to get more people to come. One option is to have food there (preferably free). She mentioned that her club is possibly getting sponsored by a dealership (please correct me if i'm wrong :)) and she could maybe get some money from them to get food. I have no idea how this works or where the best places to get massive amounts of food are so please throw out ideas. And for the Scion Evolution guys I met this weekend, do you know if you will be able to get any money from the club for this thing? Could you give Mario details also as to what is going down? He said he doesn't go on this thing at all really and he might be interested. As it develops, let mek now if he wants to come and i'll put his name down.

Also, whoever posted something on the scion evolution site for me, can you tell them the details and get some names? Then put it down on this list. pixiedixie also said that the girls would definitely be interested if there are a lot of people. We both agreed that the more people that are on the list, the more people that will want to come. what is the normal meet spot for SD locals? ill join up there... 15th is good. maybe a highlighted map of the route via mapquest or something would help too

Yeah we meet at Fusion Cafe on Clairmont Mesa Blvd. I believe the address is 8038 Clairmont Mesa Dr. I have been trying to find a map service that will let me highlight the route with multiple stopping points (since we will be picking people up along the way). however, I haven't been able to find anything.....anybody else have any ideas about maps?

So......I actually would prefer to have a cruise to somewhere in LA or some beach up there so we can cruise more than from just Irvine to autobacs.....i think they are too close. Any ideas where people would want to go? A park was suggested..w.hich seems nice. I was told there was a park right off of the 405 on la cienega. Anybody know of this? might be nice to take pics at a park........keep throwing out ideas!

of course if people woudl REALLY prefer just to go to autobacs...maybe we can call them and see if they can set aside part of the parking lot for us?

Someone suggested driving up PCH or sunset in LA. this was my response......any thoughts?

would that be feasible with 50+ cars? I know there are sections of PCH in laguna and newport beacch that have tons of lights....so it is possible some might get left behind. Then again....we could just pull over in a line and wait for cars to catch up. suggestions?

oh and also.....is there anywhere we can all go eat at once we finish the cruise? We'll attempt to keep everybody in a line on the freeway by keeping everybody informed where in the freeway we are and which lane we are in via the radios.

The drive up PCH on a Sunday would present some problems. Too much traffic and too many traffic lights. There are areas downtown in Laguna, Newport and Huntington where you could spend a half hour waiting for all the vehicles to make it through. I'm not that familiar with the L.A. area but I'm sure there is a park somewhere there we can go to. Another suggestion is to head down the Long Beach freeway from the 405 and hit the Queen Mary area. If I remember correctly there is a large parking lot by the marina.

Anyone have any details about the Queen Mary parking lot?

hehehe someone on socal-tc-club.com suggested cruising up to Hooters in Santa Monica for dinner.......thoughts? :)

I also changed the In-n-out stop to the one in Tustin. It's off the 5 freeway at the Jamboree exit. It's on the east side of the freeway. If you are heading east on jamboree, it's relatively immediately on your left. The parking lot actually IS a lot bigger than the UCI one as some people mentioned on the socal-tc-club.com website.

Yeah.....if we leave around 11 from SD would that be ok with you all? Then we can get to Irvine around 12:30 or 1, hang out for a while, leave irvine/tustin at 1:30, arrive at autobacs at about 2 or 2:30, hang out some more, leave at 3 or 3:30, then cruise wherever. This way, we can still cruise while there is still light so everybody can see this craziness :)

Temecula ain't near the 5... unless you'd wanna cut through the 74 over to San Juan Capistrano to the 5 and skip the 91/274.

So what should we do? Would you temecula people be ok with driving West to a meeting place and then we'll go north so you don't have to go south and then north again? Or would you really really prefer us to go to temecula? cuz, when i looked on the map.....it seems to be a bit out of the way. But whatever other people think, we'll make a consensus. I wanted to make a stop further up north on the 5 right after Oceanside, but nobody was from aroundt here so i never scheduled anything. So if you Temeculans want to meet up near oceanside, maybe that'll work?

So i deleted the irvine stop at in-n-out since it's so close to AUTOBACS. That way, we don't have to stop so much and regroup. So, as it stands right now, we are starting at Fusion in SD, going to Autobacs to pick more people up, then we will cruise to a yet to be determined place. AGain, those of you who want to discuss, PM me your screen names.

TEMECULANS! Would you rather cruise up to AUTOBACS and meet us up there....or would you rather come down to SD first? sorry...i don't think the logistics will work out very well if we make so many stops, like taek pointed out.

Anyway, two things:
a. I'm kinda losing track in the forum who said where they are going to meet us, so can you add ur name to the list? Thanx :)

b. At the bottom is a radio count. I will update this here as well as in the first post. But let me know if you have radios and how many extra you have to share with the rest of the bunch.
