When you accelerate the engine, the force created by the spinning crankshaft actually moves the motor a bit, within the constraints of the motor mounts. This movement releases energy that could be better served being put down the drivetrain. The dampener limits the amount of movement you'll get in the mounts and thus allows less energy loss to the engine movement.

Does that make sense? You want the power the engine is making to go down the drivetrain, not waste itself on moving the engine block.

If you are trying to put alot of power to the ground it helps by not allowing the engine to more alot. Worth it when you are deep into power mods.

any dyno test to back the effectiveness of these products?

They dont add power. They help you get the power to the wheels.

There are a lot of mods out there that do not add engine HP, they just allow more to get to the road, for better use. Like lightened crank pulley, lighter flywheel, lighter wheels (reduced rotational mass) and engine torque dampener (less wasted motion of the engine). Then there is actual weight reduction of the car itself. All these are just allowing for better use of the HP that is created by our little engine. All these added together cause a noticeable addition to WHP. Have fun with the BOX. Hope I said all that correctly!

Yes you said it perfectly. I was trying to figure out other mods that produce like the Dampeners and couldnt on the spur of the moment. Thanks for the help!

well if they produce more WHP instead of at the crank.......where in the testing evidence?.....if it works somebody must have tested it and debunked it

The testing proved it kept the engine more steady and showed less movement in which means more power is put down.

The logic doesn't make sense because without the torque dampener, the excess torque is causing the engine to move which essentially dampens the torque. So why would some other device to dampen the torque cause greater power at the wheels. Keeping the engine from moving at all would cause more power to go to the wheels but not removing power (torque dampener) that gets wasted anyways right?

The torque dampeners are not dampening torque to the wheels, it is dampening the torque (and movement) put on the engine block (most noticeable when accellerating quickly) and when the engine is not using power to "twist" itself, the power is freed up to be added to the wheels. As far as the engine dampeners added power being noticeable, I can't say. I do not have them. I dream of a lightened crank pulley though.

is there any other way to mount them apart from onto the top of the suspension strut?

i.e. the 3 bolts where a strut brac would usually go.

and this has been asked before but does anyone have pics of it installed?
