Default My Predicament

So Darcars Toyota/Scion in Frederick MD sent me a letter today, pretty much asking to buy back my car. Apparently I meet their criteria. I called them and told them what I had (05 Black Cherry) and now they sound very interested in wanting it. The guy said to tell him what I want and he will pretty much get it. I am really thinking about it since mine is auto and I want a stick. But they no longer have my color.

Does any body think It would be worth it to actually go though with something like this? I really want stick, but my parents don't think it is a good idea becuase of my commuting to DC (Note I do pay for everything; car, insurance, gas ect, I just think it's them trying to "watch out" for me).

I guess I'm wondering if any body else has been in a Buy Back situation and if it's worth it, or if the dealer has tried to mess people up this way (for lack of a better phrase) and get more money out of you.

Is it worth it to get a stick? Does any body commute with a manual and hate it? Or do you think it's an attempt by the dealer to try and get me and my money? I also thought about getting a tC but becuase of insurance I am not sure. I also like the xA, I'm just confused and In need of some outside opinions and guidance in a community that understands.

Thank you

James

I've heard of others getting letters from their dealers. I think it is just a way for the dealer to get you back to the lot to see new cars they have...and to try to get you into a new car. And the amount they are going to give you for yours is the same as any KBB value. I could be wrong on this, but I would be leary...they aren't there to 'buy' cars back, you know?

I wish I could be so lucky. Joe Myers Toyota/Scion can have my xB. I'd rather get a fully loaded Camry right now...

If there are not any catches I say go for it. Heck you can get a new one in a stick and in Salsa red and not be out anything. As long as they don't try to pull one over on you. Just get everything in writing and don't let them try to lowball you. Otherwise just walk away.
