As most of you guys already know, the TRD short throw allows you to achieve a 20% reduction by changing the pivot points and not the height of the stick level. On the other hand, TWM achieves the reduction by only changing the height. So I were to take the base of TRD quickshifter and get the TWM stage one, what will happen? 45% reduction? has anyone done this before? it just occured to me.

I don't know what that'd do, or if it would work... Plus..... $$$$$...
I'd just go stage two if I wanted that short of throw...

yea, it would benefit MORE if u go with stage two if I can prove the theory with stage one works. Anyone done this yet?

TWM achieves it by changing the pivot point also, not just the height. The only reason the TRD quickshifter comes with the cage is to provide more clearance. The cage does nothing to change the length of the throws.

:eyebrow: well... any type of reduction requires a change in the pivot point... the higher or longer below the pivot point, the shorter the throw is going to be.. height is a different concept... for example... the "stick"of the ARK short shifter is longer than the stock one (because they added length below the pivot point), thus reducing throw without sacrificing the height.
it's well... let's just say it doesn't really work that way.... maybe a little.. but it's not worth it.

What about the creative compacts short shifeter? @ 70$ its significantly less money. Is it the same quality as tmw and B&M, or is it a POS?
I installed the TRD quickshifter, the only difference is the pivot point and the rod length below it, it was a little harder to get the bottom cup to slid right in due to longer length.
There is also a Quickshifter Knockoff on ebay, somebody should try it out...

the b&m is pretty good-i had it on the sw tc. good height-i didn't want it that low, and the throws were much shorter. i actually went with a CC this time, just to have something diff, but i was considering the b&m again. the price of the CC also helped a lot.

I love my B&M shifter... perfect throw and not too low for me.... I like my arm almost level, not reaching DOWN to the shifter...

i installed the b m awhile ago... didnt like the height at all. i love the sporty feeling and really short throw kinda like the after market supra/rx7 shifters. so i chopped about 2 inches and threaded another 1/2 inch and i love it! super short throw very smooth and quick. but only do this if you know what your doing and have dye taps.

i see that the b&m comes with the bushings and the twm doesn't does this really matter??? i'll look into the cc one...
