does that mean i need to change them ?

it only happens when the weather is wet.

I have a little shreiking nose that comes on every now and then when it rains... I asked my dad about this and he said it was just probably brake dust and dirt making the noise. I've been fine ever since. I've had my car since Oct. 04'.

i had this car since december 2005.

it sounds like 2 peices of metal grinding into each other.

but it sounds fine after i cruise around town for a couple of minutes.

since it isn't consistent, i'm guessing your dad is right.

btw how many miles you got on your car ?

I'm nearing the 15k point! Looks like ur B-Day, Happy B-Day! Yeah... it goes away after cruising, scared me @ first since this is my first car and, I was like "Damn new brakes all ready??!!"

I get a scraping noise when it rains and my car sits for a while. But it goes away after I brake a couple of times. I did notice a little rust on my rotors prior to driving it. I always thought it was the rust getting scrapped off.

go check your rotors
if you see deep grooves on it then you need pads
or after it rains your rotors gets a lil rusty (Normal)
and when you first use them it will sound like its grinding

but definately check your rotors for deep grooves

my breaks made horrible scraping sounds all the time, but much worse when the ABS is activated.....which it activates a lot!

i have this same noise, after its wet and when first driving. it goes away. I'm at about 3.25k miles so I don't think its the brakes being out....... I will check though.....

ya know my ABS has never felt the need to activate before. and I just took the wickedest 90 degree batman turn last night......

that sound is normal i got 3 cars every time ist raining i hear that sound from the ABS

mine is not because of the ABS. this is different than the ABS.

ABS kicks in too early.

actually my truck does the same thing too, it goes away. its not the ABS, for me anyway, My truck goes ABS at the slightest provocation, so I know its not the ABS kicking in on my tC........

i have had to slam on my breaks a few times before and my ABS has never felt the need to kick on....
