Default those of you with 2006's..question bout the ipod/aux input

Those of you with this feature who use it...do you get a decrease in the audio quality or volume level? Im considering buying a 2006 headunit JUST so I can get good sound quality from my XM MyFI and Ipod through the headunit.

I currently have an adapter thingy from USASpec but it cuts the volume of my XM in half and isnt near cd quality.

thanks...its not the xm unit, its the adapter/aux interface unit htat cuts down the volume. my xm unit has a "line out" that is not controlled by the volume.

I have a 2005 head unit...s i am hoping if I buy a 2006 HU, problem would be solved

Less quality? No. Less volume? Yes.

The sound quality of the '06 HU thru the iPod interface (not the 1/8" mini plug aux in) is good. But the overall volume, at least for an iPod connected thru the iPod interface, is less. I attribute this to the iPod's actual line out voltage level coming from the dock connector. I noticed this on another install (dock line out>aux in on HU) I had. Seems like the output voltage from the pod is low in general.

On another note, there are threads stating that one essential cable is not available from Scion for upgrading earlier xBs. The cable in question comes with and exists only in '06 xBs, to the best of my knowledge.
