Default Air Filter Swap and Fuel Economy Gains

Sup Everyone,

This last weekend I swapped out the stock egg carton air filter for a drop in K&N. I noticed an immediate difference in drivability. It was like driving a normal car, vs what the xB used to feel like, meaning it would rev and make lots of noise but couldn't even get out of its own way.

As much as I noticed a postive difference in acceleration it was my gas mileage that impressed me the most. On average I go about 330 miles on 10 gallons. Thats through normal driving conditions. This last tank the fuel light turned on @ 333 and I went to 350 before it reached E (10 gallon fill up).

Not sure how many of you guys considered this alternative, but for $50 its worth every pennny so far.

Next up I'm looking for an affordable exhaust system. Dropping $220+ for 5 hp is way over rated for my taste. But I'm considering going with the TRD if I can bump my avg MPG from 35 to 37. That would be amazing. 370 miles on 10 gallons. But at the moment thats only a fools hope.
