www.gizmondo.com......giz vs ipod..
ok, i know the gizmondo sucks when it comes to playing different music files but i like that it has the gps, text messenging and a bigger screen, has anyone experiment with the gadget and can it work on my head unit that is ipod ready?
I looked at the Gizmondo a while back. I am not sure if the head unit will work with it, but all those features make it a tempting purchase. Tha bad news is that Gizmondo filed for bankruptcy in the UK today so I am not sure about the future of this device. I have seen it in person and it looks and feels okay, and it might be a great device for emulation.
You might be able to cobble together an auxilliary/line input, but the head unit would not be able to control the Gizmondo.

Also, another device that is worthy of mentioning is the Tapwave Zodiac. Awesome Palm OS PDA with limited gaming and media functionality. It can also be used as a GPS device with a bluetooth GPS receiver and software. It has 2 SD slots so it can hold up to 4 GBs worth of music and programs.
Tapwave also went out of business, but there is a strong community for it which can be found at www.tapland.com

don't get me wrong the ipod is very good, but wouldn't it be better to have a device that can do it all, like gps tracking and mapping, bluetooth, camera, gaming and much more,if the gizmondo came with a hard drive i would sure get it,i'm not sure but i think the largest sd card available is 1 gig...
