Default NAM gave me my money back for Anzo eyebrow projectors...

North American Motorsports gave me my money back for Anzo eyebrow projectors and sited some new regulation regarding amber turn signals. I'm bummed because it seems like those are the only ones that don't fog and i really like the style. I guess i will wait for new ones to come out?

we learned from Anzo that due to a change in DOT regulations all of their headlights must now have amber lenses over the turn signal portion of the light even when amber bulbs are used. They can no longer sell any lights which do not comply with these regulations. It is going to take about 3 months to have all of the lights redone to be in compliance. We are just as surprised about this as you are and we do apologize for the inconvenience.

New DOT rule that took effect Jan. 1. Something to do with amber
Lenses. Who knows. I had some ordered too and got a refund.
The old ones are grandfathered if sold before the new ruling started.
Anzo recalled the ones from their venders until they can be retrofitted
under the new rule. Or so I’ve heard.

I paid $149 for them on a special. I know you can find them on ebay cheaper but since these lights seem to be plagued with fogging etc. then i wanted to know it was from someone i could contact if there were problems.

I just put mine on this week and now I will have to remove them to pass a safety inspection.
That is just not right.

I hope that ANZO is going to make this right by us.
Something like this can hurt buisness.
I paid good money for these lights.

Do you understand what GRANDFATHERING means? The change ONLY applies to
new products. Nobody has said you have to go and change everything that you built
before the new code.

Calm down until you hear otherwise.

The thing is that it was after the 1 Jan when I purchased mine.
So some of us may have to worry about our inspection. For grandfathering you have to provide proof.

in hawaii we have something called "reconstruction permit" basically you have to go down and get an inspection any time you modify a vehicle. in order to pass, and it has been like this since before jan. 1, you need to have an amber reflector in the headlight. even if it is dot approved. grandfathering means nothing here, but then again it has been a rule here from before the dot change.

james, you have pm......

Sounds like a stupid Cali law to me, I bet if you try to get a set from a eBay seller that they'll be clear.

God I hated the recon law. Got 14 tickets in 2 days because of that law. Moved to a town in WA state where they don't even check emissions. I love it!!
