Help with Amped components
Alright I know nothing about components or audio in general, i dont even know if i spelled it right! but i do need some help. To get started I have a JL 300/4 powering the stock speakers but need to replace those stock ones. Whats the best way to go? If you do components do you need front and back or can you just do coaxials in the back or what? help me! I was leaning either Boston, JL, Alpine, or Infinity. Thanks. any help is appreciated except those guys that are going to come on here and tell me to "use the search'!!! if thats you, leave.
You can do components in the front and coaxials in the back. It's all up to personal preference. I prefer not having too much sound going to the rear speakers since they can ruin imaging, but some people enjoy the "fullness" of sound they create. I dont think you really need to shell out the extra money for comps in the rear. Just make sure the coaxials you use in the rear are of the same brand and/or series as the components you use up front. I've had experience with all the brands you listed. Looks like you did some homework. They are all pretty comparable, although I havent had a chance to play with any of the new models. Just make sure you don't go with the cheapest line from any of these manufacturers and you should be good to go. Better yet, try and go to a shop to demo them.
^^ then it will pretty much come to price and preference.... what's your price cap??
I've got the JL VR components and they've got great midbass response and smooth tweeters... not harsh at all...
