Default Question: Body Kit & Insurance.

I'm going to buy a body kit by the end of the month and the only thing that's holding me back is insurance. What if I get into an accident? Does my insurance cover the damage or do I have to get it fixed myself? Should I tell my insurance company that I have an aftermarket body kit for them to cover it if I get into an accident? Will my insurance go up? If anybody can help me answer these question, that'll be great! Thanks in advance.

It may vary state by state and insurance company to insurance company...

But with mine They dont see, I dont tell then yes they will cover it...
But if they see or say you need more coverage you need to get it...
But my stupid a$$ took the insurance out for spare parts. Dont have a body kit but insured the supercharger and they raised it by $17 a month so it is really small price to pay to be safe. Hope this helps.. BTW what insurance?

^^^I have state farm. I'm planning to tell my insurance company once I get it installed but I hope it doesn't go up because from what I've researched, The OEM body kit is more expensive than the Kaminari Kit so I just don't know. Thanks for the quick replies. BTW, what body kit do you have on?

Even though this topic is REALLY old, I'm going to bring it back real quick. I was recently rear-ended and am getting a Kaminari bodykit put on with the insurance money I'm getting. I'll have to pay some extra for the labor/paint, but it's fine.

If I get rear-ended again, depending on the damage, I'll just take cash from the person who hit me. If they don't have the cash, then I'll deal with them through insurance. Just tell them you were rear-ended and get a quote.

I hate getting into accidents, especially when it wasn't my fault (of course!) and so I'd like to help out wherever...

The situation for me so far is that, I have to wait to get more quotes from different bodyshops, once I find the one I like and can extract the most money from the insurance company, I'm gonna go ahead and have the insurance company send me a check.

Once I receive the check, I'll cash it and then buy the Kaminari kit. Whenever that arrives, I'm going to take it to the bodyshop and get it painted and put on. There was actual damage to my bumber as well (the brackets and such) so labor to fix those is already a whole lot.

That accident has REALLY slowed down my progess to being boosted, and I really hate that. I hope that woman's insurance money goes up a whole lot because of her negligence.

I have to get LSD, clutch/flywheel installed first. Then whenever I get my money from insurance, bodykit, painted and installed, THEN I can get my turbo installed. Because I AM NOT going to drive boosted with a car that looks like ___. I AM NOT A CIVIC OR INTEGRA RICE BOY!!!!
