Default Body Add-Ons instead of Replacements?

I've been looking at some of the body kits for the xA and they all look pretty good so far. Haven't seen too many whacky ones. But after seeing so many cars with body kits in OC, when it's a daily driver the thing turns to crap. I was looking for something more like an add-on attachment to the bumper, like lips and what not to add a little more to the bumper. Civics have a the style i want, just something that will bolt on to the existing bumper and add a little more style to it rather than replacing the whole thing.
Is there anything out yet like this? I've seen a few, looks like carbon fiber lips on the xB's, but i'm looking for something that will add a little more onto the bumper. Maybe like 1.5"-2.5" to the bumpers to level out the look of the car.

another thing... is there a shortshifter kit out for the xA? TRD's says only for xB. I figured it should be the same, but i don't want to take a chance and have to go through all the waiting.

i was told by toyota of orange's parts dept. "it's not the same, its an xA and an xB, they're different models, it won't work" i told him the interior is exactly the same as to the shifter area, he said it was different somehow. it looks the same to me. ScionFX.com sells a xA TRD Quickshifter kit, but I was sketchy on buying it because TRD said they don't have one for the xA nor have any plans of making one in the future for the xA. wierd. you think it'd work?

i need to shorten this thing... it's like a foot tall

the short shifter is the same length as the stock one, just a shorter throw. If you just want to lower the shifter, you can cut it down.

if you shorten the throw... aren't you shortening the shifter at least by a little? I wanna bring the thing down an inch. but then it looks like it'll be touching the pasenger seat in reverse.
