Default How do interior lights work?

It's not clear how the interior lighting upgrade works.

The Scion site shows the lighting just under the dash and in the cupholders. But the PDF installation instructions also show LED bars going under the front seats to illuminate the rear floor. Are the rear LED bars and harness included in the kit?

What controls the interior lighting upgrade? Are the LEDs operated by the door switch and the overhead switch, or are they manually controlled by a dash switch?

I overpaid for the kit and got them from the dealer, installed when I bought the car.

The interior LED kit is separate from the cupholder illumination kit. The interior LED kit does come with bars for under the rear seats. They are controlled by a rocker switch which is between the gearshift and the e-brake handle.

If I had it to do again, I'd get Randode's kit...

www.randode.com

If you want cupholder lights go to pepboyz or autozone and buy leds and wire them to a switch...

Randode is $40 cheaper and ten times brighter than OEM. The night-time photos look really bright. I wonder if that much brighter is really good. Matter of taste, I guess.

first, you might try asking the mods to move this to ICE, as the people who frequent that forum may have better answers for you.

also, please let me preface this with the fact that I have not yet done interior accent lighting, but I have found a very nice switch that will work once I do the stuff (i plan to)

There is a switch that I found at LOWE'S (btfoom if they are nationwide) manufactured by a company called Gardner-Bender. Thier products come in a red package with white lettering (usually a bubble on card) . The logo says "GB" in the corner, with Gardner-Bender in small font below it.

This switch is a near PERFECT fit for the center console knockouts in the xB, above the ashtray.

The part number is GSW-45

(easy to remember, for me, I guess: 45 cal gunshot wound...yep, I prolly watch too much ER)
