Default Engine ECU

Has anyone been able to upgrade the stock ecu by a chip or piggy back? If so please reply with the results and the challanges faced while doing this. My main reason to ask this question is to find out the limits of this motor. Air fuel ratios, timing curves, rev limiters, and etc. I would love to find the limit on this care.

you shoud do a search... if not

then you should do some research into some prodcuts.

greddy emanage, greddy emanage ultimate, unichip, camcon, apexi SAFC

are teh ones that are mainly used on the tC.
some go with the AFC, many gone with teh camcon which is super easy to use and the turbo guys go with the GEU. unichip is fairly new but but i believe many people use it. the only draw back with unichip is that only AUTHORIZED tuners will be about to adjust and tune the unichip

Thanks for the reply. besides the product information. Does anybody have information, like dyno runs, with these chips. Also, information such as air fuel ratios, raising the rev limiter, and the ability to change the soft factory settings. i love the proformace of my tC, but hate the 6200 RPM cut off. With the twin cam and VVT i engine this should be some what higher. If anybody has taken one of these stock engines beyond the 6200 RPM threshold. Please let me and everybody else know how it performed.

hmm.... i know a guy who took it over 9k (surprising since the tach only goes up to 8k)..... nevertheless you can say the engine went ka-boom... ka-put...

i seriously don't know how well the engine is going to handle above 6200... but i think it's not worth risking it because i think you reach peak HP at like 5700. (unless if you do some upgrading, i guess..)
