Default Professional Car Detailing - to get rid of bird poop

So I parked my tC in the driveway the otherday (and I rarely do), and the one day I do that, a bird decides to target practice with my car, dropping a huge, creamy, oozing pile of poop on the door. I don't know how long it was there for, but I cleaned it up immediately when I saw it by washing it, soaking it and waxing it. There's still some residue which shows up in sunlight (I think it's just the clear-coat that was eaten away)... it could have been much worse I think... but I'm extremely ____ed and I now have a vendetta against all birds (and I like my tC a little less for having such cheap exterior coating).

My question is: would a professional car detailer be able to get rid of it, and what's the going rate for a full service? I have some scratches I'd like to get rid of, so I'm thinking this might be a two-for-one opportunity.

I have the same problem with my BRAND NEW box! Before my box I had a Cypress Green Civic and had some problems with it also. I'm not sure if it will work but you could try a clay bar followed with paint cleaner and finally a poish with wax. I am planning on doing this with my box, just haven't had time yet. I like to do my own detailing because I am paranoid about anyone else servicing my car.

ya... bird bomb etchings dont need much work to correct, especially fresh ones like you have. I detailer should make quick work of it. go check autopia and make a post in the regional forums and see if u can find someone local.

Any chances of a magician revealing their tricks and posting a diy?

Get a Clay Bar kit like was mentioned above. Works like magic. Try a search here on sl, if not try Google. It's really easy and the results are amazing.

yes but you dont want to clay bar your car often, as it gets it back to looking like new by taking a lil off.

works great, just use sparingly

What about the semi-gloss or flat black vinyl overlays - like those on the door window frames on the xB?

Certainly don't want glossy areas on the vinyl...

TIP:

Keep a can of seltzer water in your car at all times. If bird poop hits your ride, pull out that can and give it a light shake, aim at the poop and open.

The carbonation helps pull it off your paint.

The NUMBER ONE THING you need to remember is to get it off ASAP!!!

Not in my experience. A clay bar only cleans off the residue on top of the paint. If you're taking clearcoat off, you may want to use more lubricating spray.

i hear that vinegar does the job, but since its acidic you would have to wax it again
