Has anyone adapted a throttle body from another car onto a XB? I wanted to see if something like a celica gt throttle body will fit.

SwaTx21 03-22-2006, 03:14 AM . . . . no idea frogbox 03-22-2006, 05:35 AM :P jct 03-22-2006, 10:11 PM all i can say is buy one from like a junk yard and find out if it doesn't fit/work... sell it on ebay Uncle_Bens 03-23-2006, 02:33 AM yeah i thought about that. the other idea I had was to get the gaskets from both and compare to see if the bolt paterns are the same. bB2NER 03-27-2006, 02:34 AM yeah i thought about that. the other idea I had was to get the gaskets from both and compare to see if the bolt paterns are the same.Very good idea Bro! Let us know. I'm curious also. Thanks! itsme 03-27-2006, 05:47 AM how would the TB help? bB2NER 03-27-2006, 06:13 AM Bigger TB=more air into engine. But also have to remember the MAS. itsme 03-27-2006, 04:34 PM how would it effect the MAS? suspended 03-27-2006, 06:10 PM for a larger throttle body to have ANY effect on your car, you would need to port match your intake manifold as well...i've been wondering about doing this as well....good luck bB2NER 03-27-2006, 06:41 PM how would it effect the MAS?The MAF sensor passage would have to match the TB. Otherwise it would defeat the whole larger TB thing. Also good thought on port matching the intke to match the TB. itsme 03-27-2006, 08:27 PM would a CEL go off if you go with a larger diameter tube for the MAS? bB2NER 03-28-2006, 06:59 AM Who knows? It's all just speculation at this point. Someone will have to experiment then report back. |
