Default Ebay intake with AEM DRYFLOW filter

Here are some shots of my current intake. I replaced the generic filter with an AEM DRYFLOW from Autoanything for roughly 48 bucks. Its a good size filter and the performance is quite good also. The colors all match well. Black intake, grey filter, thunder cloud metallic paint job. I even put an AEM sticker on the intake. I think I could fool people into thinking the whole system is an AEM. your such a silly _____.

Looks good, im impressed that it actually fit pretty good for an ebay intake, or that it looks good at all. How much was everything?

um it was roughly 30 bucks for the intake. that included the black coated aluminum pipe, a generic air filter, and the other parts. check out this link.

The AEM Dry Flow has very poor air flow a K&N Filter will flow about 15% more air and the Green filter will flow 30% more. But it does look good. Just as a note you can get the Green Filter in the same color as that AEM.

right on. and thanks for the input rocket. i decided to go with the AEM DRYFLOW to take the oil out of the equation and avoid messing up my MAF. I've heard stories about using oiled filters that are no fun.

The AEM Dry Flow has very poor air flow
I wasn't aware that the AEM dryflow had poor air flow. Doh!! I even have an Injen Prefilter over my filter.

Oil on the MAF is a concern, that is one of the reasons I like the Green over the K&N. Green is the only oiled filter to use a synthetic oil so it will not harm the MAF. I work next door to a GMC truck dealer they have had a lot of problems with the K&N on the 5.3L engine but never had a problem with a Green.

I wouldnt worry about the maf sensor to much. I thought I had a problem with mine a while back, and I have touched it with my fingers, spit on it, rubbed it with a q-tip, sprayed it with windex, and it still runs fine.
