Default Used S/C and Warranty

Guys if I purchase a slightly used S/C and intend on taking it to a master tech for the install does the warranty on the S/C itself transfer to me? Dont wanna buy a used one to save money if I get screwed out of any warranty on the unit.

Thanks

From what I have heard the warranty IS NOT transferrable. I would check it out before hand.. G/L

If the previous owner has all the legal paperwork filled out, then the supercharger warranty is not transferrable.

I was told from a representative the only way the warranty is transferrable is if it was installed by a dealership with the TRD tamper-proof cap installed, and it is taken to a dealership with the tamper-proof cap un-tamperred-with and is transplanted from one car to the other, a new cap applied and warranty papers signed over through TRD's consent.

Also as far as I know there is no way to "un-flash" the ECU back to stock from the TRD supercharger.

So dealer-installation prices x2 for removal and install = might as well buy a new one.

Oh, and if the tamper-proof cap is tampered with, warranty is permanantly voided, and no Magnusson-Moss act because it is directly stated in the instructions that it WILL void the warranty, not if, or maybe, or not mentioned, but WILL.

Guess I will now. ZPI was selling their used S/C and the max bid was only 1700 or so with an hour left on ebay. Since it had under 100 miles on it, figured Id save big. Oh well.

Thanks guys.

I won that bid on ebay from ZPI...and i contacted my dealer and asked them if i Installed a slightly used supercharger would it void the warranty and they said yes...unless I get it installed by a Toyota certified technician...and being that I work at a Lexus dealer...the techs are toyota certified and a Master Tech is gonna install it for me...my dealer said all i have to do is present them with receipts that it was installed by a certified tech.
