Default Need help deciding before I buy

So i finally convinced my dad to go half with me on PW. Within the next week we are going to order one, but i need do decide what to get with it right away, and what to add on after market. The main things im concerned with is a spoiler and some new rims. Is it worth it to get the spoiler on and intalled right away, or do it after. And the same with the rims, are the ones you can get through the dealer any good, or would you rather go with after market? if so what kind of rims?

definitely go aftermarket. dealer-installed accessories are a huge rip-off. you can get the OEM spoiler from sites like trdsparks.com and scionsport.com, newscionparts.com, ebay...just look around. and $2000 for rims, if you want to, go ahead. i'd rather get a set for a little bit cheaper.

Personally, I would order any accessories that require body drilling or wiring from the dealer. Anything else can be bought online cheaper and installed yourself. I did this with my xB. I'm still waiting for the spoiler and security system to come in, but I'll have the piece of mind knowing it will be done correctly and I'll have less to worry about down the line.

I had an an after market security system installed in my last new car(about 15 years ago) and later on ended up having electrical problems which may or may not be related.

That's my 2 cents.

As a modder and a Scion Sales Manager I price my aftermarket accessories at the dealership as cheap as I possibly can. I know you guys dont wanna overpay and its easier to get things when you buy the car new. I would check pricing at the dealership youre dealing with to see wha they charge for certain things youre interested in and then compare that to what it would cost you after the sale. Make an educated decision and go from there. Also consider the amount of time and effort you will have to put in when buying things later. I know time is money for me so anything more convenient I am willing to pay a little extra for if its saves me agg....

true, but as far as rims or taillights, something like that, i would definitely not buy from the dealer. a spolier, yeah, it'd be much easier on mynerves ordering from them.

I second the spoiler install at the dealer. Everything else is very easy to do later.

Then again, if money is tight, you can put the accessories in the loan - keeping in mind you will pay even more for them this way since you will be paying interest.

well were paying the car off right away so interest isnt a problem, but what i finally decided is to just do the spoiler through the factory. i might just wait on the rims on account of im going to college next year so im Broke. and as far as like stereo/audio, and car starter and junk, i work at Best Buy so that'll be dirtttt cheap...
