Question about dealership "Suggested Maintenance"
Hey all.
I used to post on here under a different moniker but left for awhile and now I'm back. Anyway I've got a question about the suggested maintenance from my dealership. I went in to get an oil change last and I was nearing 30k miles and the guy suggested I come in for the 30k suggested maintnance. Here's what my dealership includes:
Engine Oil and Filter Change
Transmission Drain and Fill
Cooling System Drain and Fill
Rotate Tires
Front and Rear Brake Inspection
Lubricate Chassis
Replace Engine Air Filter
Replace Pollen/Dust Filter
Inspect & Fill Fluids
Multi Point Inspection
Replace Wiper Inserts
The cost for this is $289.95
Seems a little steep to me, however, I really dont have the time nor the desire to do ALL that stuff myself, nor can I do some of it (lubricate chassis, transmission drain and fill - never done one). So I'm wondering what your thoughts for this are.
Also, keep in mind that I didnt do their 15k mile suggested maintenance. The only maintenance I've done on the car so far has been oil changes (and they do a multi point inspection for those too to let me know if belts are bad etc and nothing has come up so far).
Is there anything else I should/could check on my own now that I'm at 30k?
Sorry for the million questions in one post. I'm a maintenance noob haha.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I would look in your owner's manual and see what it recommends for the 30K. If the manual recommends it, then I would go for it. You can save a bit by doing a lot of the things yourself, but that is your call as to how you value your time.
the 30k in the manual.. says...
replace engine oil and filter
rotate tires
replace enginer air filter
replace spark plugs[xA and xB]
tighten drive shaft bolt
and inspect the following.. it has like 15 things... that is all.

289 is crazy for all that simple stuff that can be done at home for under 70 bucks. Plus by doing it yourself you know it was done and done right.
Oh that part about the pollen filter. It'd be funny to see them check a filter that wasn't originally installed at the time of delivery. Much less install one that was never there. LMAO
