Default 1st Mod Planned: Blackened Tail Lights

Well, I've had my xB for a few days and after reading a lot of the topics and looking at other people's cars, I've decided on some mods I would eventually like to do. I really want some black rims (with the chrome ring), blacked out tail lights, and say 30% tint in the front.

So in terms of "smoked" tail lights, what options do I have? I really can't stand the current fresnel white ghosted light covers and they already have water inside them. Are there any solid options out there?

Thanks in advance.

Most people either smoke the tails themselves with VHT nightshades (spray) or vinyl overlays (from bluebatmobile). Go with whichever you're better with; personally I've learned that tint/vinyl is not easy for me but others have no problems.

If you replace them, you can get different kinds. Check eBay/ sponsored sites here for them. As an idea, I have black LED tails:

Crappy pics, but you get the idea.

Bluebatmobile makes vinyl overlays. I'm sure he would have a smoked overlay you could use. Just look him up and shoot him an e-mail. Also, if you really want to do it on your own with paint check out the tech section of this web site. It's under the features tab on the top of the page. Happy modding and good luck!

I did mine with sa small can of Testers model paint from a craft store. I used the flat black paint (painted on the inside)...matches perfectly with the BSP.
It's really easy to tape off the area you don't want painted, since the pattern inside is like a grid.
Taking the tails apart is super easy. The hardest part is reaching the nuts inside the cargo area to remove them. Just be sure to put the little rubber seal thingy back in its groove when you reassemble. Mine have never leaked-even with a pressure sprayer directly on them.

Congrats!

Our 22mil smoked taillight kits are quite popular and pretty straight forward to install.

Smoked tails over TYC tails with the running lights on.

Let us know if you have any questions.
