Apparently, our beloved xB's are selling like hot cakes! Check out this article from Chicago Tribune.

 DAMN IT!

The funny looking machine with the funny name is aimed at the youth market and has a few features that make up for the looks: low price, only $14,480 to start; and high mileage, 31 m.p.g. city/34 m.p.g. highway with automatic transmission.

Those two features have helped create a two-month backlog of orders for the Scion wagon. It went on sale in the Chicago area this month, last stop in its nationwide rollout that began a year ago in California. And Toyota may not have enough supply to meet demand until September or October

Any dealer that can back this up??

If this is true, this is some badass BAD news!!

I got a call from my dealer two days ago telling me that my xb should be arriving within two weeks. Hopefully he wasn't lying... :?

Also as i was reading on toward the bottom I found this sentence about the xB

Side-impact air bags and air-bag curtains are offered in a $650 package, but young buyers seldom opt for them (5 percent), Farley said

I have not herd of this at all, I know there are side impact bags for the xA, but I have not herd of Curtain bags for either one.... :?

Can someone shed some light on this?
(I personally think this journalist is dishing out alot of Bull !@#$)

Well, I know here in KY they just went on sale last week. I was the first one in Lexington to get the xB. But, when I picked mine up yesterday, the dealer said that all xB's on the lot had already been sold and were just waiting to be picked up.

I dont think it will get bad enough that there is one on every block 'cause Toyota didnt make enough to go around. Gonna be like the Prius is now. They are in high demand, but you hardly see any on the roads.

Funny. Put down my deposit yesterday. Was told a month and a half but I figured September/October exactly as the article said. Hehe

Mydealer worked a dealer trade for mine and he says it's in port. They are just waiting to get the paperwork transferred over. I'm hoping to get mine by next week. If I have to wait 2 months I'll freak out.

I believe that this was quoted from a very early pre-release Scion brochure. Apparently this reporter does most of his "test driving" in his office chair and doesn't even bother to get current data.

I just ordered a camo xb yesterday and was told about a month. I'm in no hurry so it doesn't bother me. It gives me extra time to ponder what I want on it.

Good thing most dealers are abiding Scion.com's MSRP price. Anyone remember when the PT Cruiser was in high demand? Some PT's were priced $10K above MSRP!

All dealers have to abide by the MSRP pricing. They are not allowed to charge a premium.

Haha the PT crusier thing reminds me of when my gramps bought his...

He bought a loaded top of the line PT limited(EVERY option) for like 16,500... some where in the boondocks... We drove that sucker back and we just stopped in at the dealer thats up the street from his house and saw a identical PT (except his is black and the one we saw was silver) for 24,995.......

The salesman came over and was like looking to buy a matching PT(he kinda chuckled.)

We smiled and my gramps said "Not for that damn price!!!!" And i just so happened had the sticker from my gramps car in my had to compare.... I started repeating "16-5 16-5 16-5 16-5"and we drove off.....
