Default suggestions for my install...looking for easiest route

i have a 15" sub that i want to put into my xB, i'm not sure if i should keep the factory or put in my nice pioneer...if i put in my pioneer, i'd lose the remote functions (from what i've read...which sucks cuz they're both pioneer but w/e) and i'd have to buy an adaptor and get into the wiring of the xB to install it...which i'm not really down for...but if i keep the factory do u think the sound quality would suffer? it's just a sub and i can get a bass control **** (it's an older fosgate d-class amp)...i did this in my old car and it sounded alright...and if i keep the factory cd player i can sell my current deck...

opinions?

I think the factory deck puts out fine. I feel like it's more mid than high overall, but if you upgrade your little tweets up front it should work out with the sub.
With a 15" sub? What kind of amp wattage?! You're gonna have to sound deaden your whole car!!

Use a LOC and an aftermarket bass ****.

I remember RTon20s did a nice clean install w/bass ****. Can't remember the maker or p/n, though.

My stock '06 deck is definitely acceptable. That, plus a line driver/PEQ/bass **** is what runs my setup now. Sounds pretty good.

Definitely not "high end", but well past "entry level" quality.

I just put a system in my xB, I didn't deaden it at all, and it shows. My hatch constantly rattles. I want to deaden it but I can't do it myself, and the idea of someone gutting my beloved xB, doesn't give me a warm feeling!
