Default WTF...!!! First Hour In My NEW xA... Paint Is Peeling...!!!

Hahaha.

Just kidding! Picked up my xA from the dealer this afternoon. Drove around some and clocked 40 miles on the odometer (picked it up with 2 miles). Man, the fuel needle REFUSES to move...! Looking foward to breaking the engine in. I wonder if I can make 500 on this tank...

Some notes:

Shifter kinda blows. Especially second gear...

I already stalled twice... and I've been driving manual my whole life. But I've never had a brand new clutch...

Stereo system blows too... well, at least for the music I play... Too tinny and crashy... Trying out different settings. Honestly, my 97 Golf seriously had a better sound and I used a cassette adapter with a CD player...!

I'm already used to the center gauges. No sweat.

But one thing irritates me... the temp control ****... the hot is red... but the cold, which is supposed to be blue, barely registers a faint green. Shoulda put more effort in there, Toyota.

Overall, I'm VERY VERY happy and excited. In fact, I'm going for a drive now!!

Oh yeah, I hope I didn't jinx my car...!

P.S. What's the best (but affordable) security system at Best Buy/Circuit City? Willing to spend like $300.00.

You might try fiddling with the SSP button described here:

Viper security systems are usually pretty decent.

The shifter can be improved for $60.

Are you serious? I thought that one of the best features of my new Scion was the stereo system. Then again, I'm not riding around blasting music, either, but my stereo sounds great and I absolutely love the mp3 player.
