Default I am SO confused about HID's.......HELP

If your just here to tell me to use the search button then stop reading and leave...thank you

Ok, so i figured i could buy a set of Hids put them in my car and away i go. but reading alot of threads thats not the case. to get true hid i need to do some sort of a retrofit thing with projectors from a car that has real hids, yada yada yada $1000 or more thyp of thing. So i thought you could get the projector lights off of ebay and put hid in there and your all good. but then the lights says dont use hid in it. then people are talking about aming things and beam paterens. so im efn confused.

1. Can i Put HIDs in my stock housing
2. if I can will they look like my friends infinity. like from my point of view?
3. If no will it look alot brighter then my silverstars?
4. if yes, alot brighter? like $250 worth brighter?
5. Is anything above 6000k just for looks? or is it bright too?

please help me

1.Yes, get a kit with a glare guard to cut down on light going upward and angle the housings down slightly.
2.Yes/No, without a projector housing you will not get the "twinkle" effect where the beam changes color, the color will stay looking the same 6K is probably whiter than your friends car.
3.Yes MUCH brighter!
4.Yes..but everyone has thier own opinion on how to spend thier money $)
5.6K is in the middle, pure white color very nice 8K is slightly cooler and not quite as bright, those are the only 2 I recommend 10K and up loose to much light..stock HIDs are usally 4300-5000K.

1. I did it 3 days ago with no housing mods. And when 365 said aim them down slightly...umm hahaha I had to go about 8 or 9 full turns to keep from burning peoples eyes from their heads. To aim them, park about 10 feet from a wall, turn on your lights and you will see the cutoff point. Then open your hood and look at the rear of your lamp housings, you will see a bolt with, what looks to be a washer with teeth... rotate that and you will slowly start to see the beam go down.

2. 365 said it right... Personally, I think reflector housings look better than projectors.

3 & 4 I think everyone has made the mistake of buying Silverstars hahaha ... Once you get your hids you will never want to drive without them! HIDs are like having glorious rays of the sun protrude from the front of your car.

5. I have 12000k. I like these better than most that you will see for these reasons. A. You have the advantage of bright lighting B. With 12000k you get a blue tint and they are still bright enough so everyone see that you spent money on true hids and not just those crappy blue tinted lamps.
