Recently I've noticed that the maintenance required light is staying on for a rather long time when you start the car up in my fiancee's tc. It doesn't stay on constantly, it just blinks for what seems like forever and then goes off just about the time I put the car in drive and doesn't come on any other time. I'm wondering if this is something normal or something I should be concerned with.
I usually run BP regular in the car all the time and recently she put a tank grocery store gas in and things haven't been the same since. Do you think that we got some bad gas and this is causing the light to stay on longer?

Oh yeah, I also recently added a K&N air filter if that makes a difference.

Whats your mileage? If you are aroud the 5,000 mile mark the light comes on to remind you to get your oil changed if it has been doon already and your next 5,000 miles has come around you just need to resit the light

First oil change should have been around 1K.
No they won't reset it if the light isn't on. Plus who knows how much extra they would charge to do it :relief:

The oil is changed every 3000 miles and the car has 10K on it now. The first two oil changes were done by the dealer for free and I did the last one myself. I'll check the owner's manual and see if it has how to reset the light.

did you buy new? You should've gotten three free oil changes regardless of whether the dealer offered free oil changes on behalf of them

I wish I could sell those 3 "free" oil changes. I will never use them cause I don't trust dealers to touch my toaster. LOL
