A hater decided to throw chewing gum on my door....... .....I've tried to take it off with cold water but it's not coming off.....I have bsp which scratches very easily......any ideas on how I can take it off without messing up my paint?

 

have you tried some goo gone?
That stuff takes damn near anything off.

 

Credit card shouldn't scratch it.

wont harm paint
i used it on my roof to remove tree resin
and to remove glue tape from my hood

 

yea ive used it on my car to remove some parking sticker crap that my building security put on my car for not having a permit...no paint scratches or anything.

what i did was let it sit there for a minute and then the sticker just came right off. Whatever u do, DONT try to yank the gum off. You should be ok though.

 

Got some automotive goo gone.....worked great.....took it right off.....thanks everybody....

goo gone is very abrasive, but as long as you're not bathing your car in it it'll be fine. i used some to take off the leftover adhesive on the tc emblem on the car, a little with the gum will take it off in a second.

cool, they make automotive googone. i was going to suggest stoner's tarminator spray, it works well on bugs and tar, so i figured it would handle gum no problem

 

you can try can of compressed air. freeze the gum residue and it should just fall off with a cloth.
