Default My Prayers Answered, a second Short Ram Kit

I was browsing a newer scion parts site www.fastscions.com after it popped up on my screen, and to my suprise they have what looks like a generic short ram with a K&N filter, kit was only $150 and it came with tubes/hoses and mounts. Looked like a great deal to me. I have been praying for this for a long time, because the Weapon-R, just was not going to do it for me, the injen filter rubbed and the TRD was too damn expensive.

Has anyone else seen this, does any one have it, what do you think?

Thoughts.

What did you not like about the Weapon-R?

From what I can tell you lose alot of low end with the weapon-r, not to mention I do not like the look of it and some have lodged a quality complaint. I have always been a fan of the larger, K&N style filter (personal preference) and have been waiting for something along these lines. If weapon-r would release their dragon intake for the TC, I would probably be sold, but they have not, and the secret weapon line just does not float my boat. Im not knocking you if you have one, just a preference.

Cheers

Rumor has it, and you can see from pictures that the Injen unit's filter rubs a little bit when it is in SRI mode. I dont own one, but people have commented on it.

Youre preaching to the chior here. If you like it, then go for it. I personally dont want to pay the bigger bucks for an intake that Im only going to use in a SRI.

If you could, you should add a fex pix of your intake in the engine bay. I would like to see them.

I don't own one, I just want to buy a short ram intake when I get a hood with a scoop in it, and the Weapon-R is the only one I know of.

I can tell you from experience that a hood scoop is a bad idea, although it may look cool.

I had an 84 Trans Am with a functional hood scoop and water would make its way down into the intake when it rained, and worse yet if left out in the snow/ice at all, the scoop could cause all kinds of problems. FYI

I meant a reverse scoop or a simple vent to let air flow easier. Should have been more specific, sorry. I knew the risk about hydrolock. Thanks for the concern though.
