60K maintenance for Xb @ Toyota or somewhere else?
I'm a noobi to Scion Life and I am wondering whether it would be better to get my 60K service done @ the Toyota dealership or would it be better to get it done somewhere else. I've had my car since August 2003 and I have to admit that I've been neglecting it due to a case of severe brokeitis. I looked at the factory scheduled maintenace guide and I wanted to know if some parts that Toyota is going to replace or install are "cheap", and if I could save money by going elsewhere while also getting better quality parts. $529 is alot of money to spend. Any help on this matter will be of great assistance.

Too lazy to go out and look at the owners manual but it is usually cheaper to go somewhere else. I usually do my maint. myself. This way I know its done right. Oil changes and tire rotations are as easily screwed up by the dealer as anywhere else. As far as belts radiator and tranny fluid an oil change shop or any garage can do this service also. Just check your car for any leaking fluid before you leave anywhere. Its is so easy to forget to install an oil drain plug duringoil changes etc. Dealer or local bobs garage!

You can get a complete list of what it involves. Then do what you can yourself then pay someone to cover the other stuff for a lot less than what the dealer wants.
