We had a bad batch of turbos and now we have been what appeared to be an oiling issue. We are proud to annouce this was not an issue at all and nothing more than an oversight by us. We have solved this problem and the kit is working beautifully and just as designed.

On a side note, I havent even got my car back yet but have already been challenged to a race by an all motor auto xB, hp: 128whp tq: 138wtq..He said he would rape me if we raced, didn't you Tony.. :P ... May have to take a trip to NOPI to see if that would be true or not.

The box and the turbo kit look really nice in person. I have been at the shops recently and got a chance to look it over. I really like the way the kit looks and how you don't realize it is turbo until you look really hard. Too bad they were working some bugs out because I would have loved to see it run in person.

That is the wastgate you see hanging down, the turbo is nicely tucked up into where the exhaust is, like it was meant to be there or somthing. As for the transmission, well I will be beating on it pretty hard to see what it can take and let you know.

Im not sure what makes the other turbo kits "not real" or this one real. All give FI to the 1.5L. This is the only remote turbo mounted kit however. Its also the kit that offers the largest turbo. Lets try to put some thought into comments we make.

As for the dump tube, all they need to do is trim it a little. The wastegates are connected to the manifold so hitting anything solid like a speed bump etc, will mean BIG trouble. Bottoming out will break the wastgate, tubing, mounting point of the wg and manifold, etc. If its just the tube, then they can just shorten it. I was curious though, maybe ZPI can answer my question. Why use an external wg for only 7.5 psi of boost? The 16g internal wastegate is more than able to maintain these boost levels.

Same reason we use an external on the tC. You can only clock the compressor cover so much with the WG actuator on there.

MY question is, Is that with exhaust still off, or is the exhaust reattached. I really didn't look closely at the video. and someone needs to re compress the Vid! hangs up near the end.

No exhaust.. Just enough pipe for the 2nd o2 sensor. We'll have an exhaust on it this week.

I wanna hear how it sounds with this "full" ZPI exhaust :-D

rollhard - by "real", i meant a turbo kit that was attempting to make more than 30 or 40 hp. i don't think i have to go on here and explain myself anyways but hopefully this will clarify my statement a little bit. i just see other turbo and supercharger kits and think they cost way too much for what you get out of them. i've read what you've been doing with the greddy though so props since you seem to be really making an effort to make that kit the best it can be.

Two questions about the video:

1) Why does the car sound like it's ignition is cutting in and out (high speed miss) when it is put under hard acceleration? You can hear this in the opening scene when the car passes the camera just after it has pulled out of the parking space. You can also hear it when the car is pulling into the parking lot at the end of the video, just before the shot shows it in the garage. I would hope that with that added cylinder pressure, the kit would include or suggest some type of spark intensifying system(MSD, Mallory or Jacobs...etc.) rather than spark plug gap reduction. Looks like the flames are "blowing out" under pressure, IMHO.

2) Will the kit require you reposition the windshield washer bottle like it is in the video? Can it be filled in that position when the bumper cover is re-installed?

Not trying to "flame", lord knows there's enough of that, just looking for clarification.

My guess is the ECU is trying to maintain the correct afr. On an FI car, low to mid to mid high throttle position the ECU runs lean because it has no idea what is going on. Its only WOT that the AFR is somewhat drivable. My car does the same thing if I dont go WOT. Mid throttle and my UEGO pegs 17:1. ZPI is probably having the same problems.

LOUD is all i have to say VERY LOUD!!! It sounds really incredibly truly nice and my regards to billy for being SO DAM patient. A couple of days without my car (due to paint) and im going CRAZY!!! Even when they are doing a simple brake change i go crazy with those couple of hours without my bab.

Most kits are built around the car. Thats how they can sell them as bolt on kits. I havent seen a kit that needs relocation of major parts etc. On my kit, I didnt have to relocate anything.

ANY kit that is using a piggy back will throw the CEL because if its richer than 13 the CEL will throw the too rich code. If its leaner than 16, it will throw the too lean code. Since the sensors are narrowband, youll most likely have the CEL on. The ECU tries to maintain around 14.7 afr which would be too learn for FI.

No, if he CEL light comes on for being too rich, then your piggyback is doing its job. you should aim for mid 12s AFR which is too rich of a condition for the ECU, in which then it will trigger the CEL.

Okay, thats what I figured.. It's funny how the tC's can boost with out CEL's but xB's cant.. Very very strange.

Apparently the stock ecu thinks there's something wrong when the maf is unhooked, go figure :P The video looked good Billy, I'm anxious to see the final results.

Last I heard he has enough parts to do a few kits, but is trying to fix any bugs that may come up. I just know that he has been busy with NOPI, SEMA, and a few other events right now.

No the only problem I have seen was when they snapped the axle clean off... running 12psi and launching in very hard... Kenny Strickler style.... I know Vito and Lastlookcustoms both ran there xB's hard with out any engine issues.. so I really dont think it is gonna be a problem. Only time will truly tell thou..

My engine is running fine... out of boost i'd swear there was nothing done to it.. and in boost it runs like a champ.. So all good here..
