Thinkin bout switchin over!!!!!
I bought a 2006 scion tc on may 5 2006. I love the car and have put about 2.5k into it already. However I have noticed that my style is very limited by this vehicle. I am thinkin of buying either an xB or an xA, as both of these vehicles ffer far greater creative freedom and ability to be different from the next joe with a muffler and rims. Please help me to make a decision as I know you all have much insight on these vehicle. Thank You.
If you go to shows or meets you generally see a bunch of stock tC's, a bunch of modded xB's, and a limited number of xA's. You may want to hold off until the replacements come out fot eh xA and xB next Spring before making a decision.
Well if you go xA you're even more limited in what you can find to put on your car... so if you're wanting a vast array of parts to put on your car, then the xB is the way to go.
But since I love my xA, I'm determined to make things for my car rather than wait for some company to decide to make something.

Ive got the box at my house right now. I have it for a couple of days to see if I like it. The delership has my tC. It is extremely fun to drive and efficient. but I have some questions. The body roll/lean is horrible on this car. Does the aftermarket susp. make up for that enough to drive it like you stole it. Also will the clutch lighten up as it seems to be far less forgiving than most, as it is either engaged or not, there sdeems to be no in between. Thanx
I drove the box for 2 weeks while my TRD sway bar was on order. It was an immediate difference after it was installed. although, NO, it will not handle as well as the tC did, but it still makes the box much more fun to drive and IMO safer to drive in case you ever need to swerve to avoid something in the road.

I had the same thought after I bought my 5-speed 2006. It seemed impossible to get a truly smooth gear change (the kind where you can't tell you've changed gears). After 2 months, that is no longer the case. It isn't always perfect, but it is always good. If I want to put the effort into it, I can achieve the truly smooth shift.
In answer to your question - I don't know. Either the clutch has lightened up, or I've just gotten used to it and compensated for it (the more likely answer).
But either way, the result is the same; after 2 months, there is an in between.

Are there any short shifters for the box. It would be nice as it takes about a week to shift gears stock. Also will the pulley make the engine rev more freely, or does that just come with time. Itsseems to struggle around 4k and up even though motors are under less load there. Are there any problems that will come up over time, as my tC has some problems with carpet, and upholstery. Thanks.
hum at 4k huh about 4k seems to be were mine starts to go but ive also got i/h/e...i was almot thinking about going to a tc lol...but now im in leavenworth kansas and i dont have smog so my ideas can now work if i decide to keep them

theres nothing wrong with the box i just sometimes wish i had a 2 door car for just me ...something more sporty than the box ya know...maybe later il get a tc or just get something else as there is allways something that i like...
Its a NOGO.... I am not gettting a box. I picked my car up today and after driving the tC after driving th box for a couple of days. I have to say that I need the sportiness of the tC. I do plan on getting a box in a year or so. Hopefully I will be able to buy a final edition as I really did like the car, but there was no comparison with my baby(tC)
xA are nice and the white ones are sick w/ a CF hood but u have to make that car wide it looks funny stock, you can roll around w/ a stock xb but i dont think i can handel driving around in a stock xa for a long time, i think it kinda looks girly no offence
