I've had some success with Mothers Back to Black, but if you stop applying it semi-regularly (once a month in my experience), it goes back to faded.

I bought my last car (convertible) used, and the A pillars were pretty gray and faded. I bought some Klasse Vinyl, Leather, Rubber & Plastic-Cleaner/Protectant and it restored it to match the rest of the interior color over two or three applications. I never really applied the stuff to them once they went back to black, and they never faded.

I've used Pinnacle interior stuff too, but prefer the Klasse.

I asked about this not too long ago and was told Stoner Trim Shine and Poorboys Trim Restorer. I haven't tried them yet. I'd stay away Armor All, I was a big fan until I started to look for the best stuff and found a lot of car detailing people saying bad stuff about. Armor has yet to touch my car.

Yea, you won't find detailing enthusiasts using many AA products, if at all.

Some trim restorer should be enough to restore it (etsnet's suggestions should work)... I have a feeling some AIO or 303 Protectant might fix it up a bit... not sure how much restoring abilities they have, though. I hit my trim with 303 every month or so to protect the trim and keep it looking nice and black (with no cheesy shine).

its obvious he's not one because he wouldn't be asking, i dont think he's obsessed with keeping it in show condition. 100 enthusiasts will stand by 100 differant products, too each there own.

What he said ECXEPT ditch the armor all and try Vinylex instead. Vinylex, besides conditioning plastics, keeps UV from doing heavy damage (i.e. fading) to plastics.

Use at least once a month, but everytime you wash is a better interval.

thanx 4 ur input guys!! I bought mothers back to blackand it didnt work fo me at all! and im never going to put armoral on my car cuz that cracks up plastic and rubber through time. My Automotive Tech. Instructor told me today that u can shine up ur tires with pepsi or coke, but in the summertime u'll have alot of mosquitos around ur tires but that's off topic.Im gonna try that Vinylex stuff and hopefully it will work for me. Also, where can I find this at? Autozone, Checkers, Pepboys, any place like that?

Thanx again for ur help!!!

I found it at pepboys. I think it was $8.99 for a quart sized spray bottle, but I found the pre-moistened Vinylex wipes on sale for $3.99, so I bought those instead.

I dont have THAT much plastic on the exterior to justify (in MY eyes anyway) 32 ozs. of the stuff. That is MORE than a lifetime supply since a little goes quite a long way.

TIP: Let it penetrate for 60 seconds (or more) and buff.

Its not plastic its just tape. It can come off if you'd like. Its Nautical Blue under the tape anyways. Now, I don't what could bring it back to black.

Get a bottle of Forever Black. It's a black dye that lasts 6 months or more. It come in a bottle like shoe polish and leaves a nice semi gloss finish. I use it on my wife Jeep plastic trim that has a habit of turning gray.
