Hey Inazuma, do you also do installs for others? Recommend any good alarm systems? Don't think I wanna pay $400+ for the factory one when there's better ones in the aftermarket.

Thanks!

I have hookups for alarms even with automatic start and the ones with the little keychain pager (two way) Let me know what kind u r looking for. I can probably hook u up also. I live in Torrance area.

I used to install before, but i am older now. I got sick of it.

But let me see how easy/hard it is to install in the xB.
Maybe i can walk you through it.
I will install mine around X-Mas break.

Should anyone come across the wiring manual for the xB I would suggest buying it. It contains everything you need for wiring and tapping into the factory wires. Color codes, harness locations, ground points and power points to name a few. I got mine on eBay for $30.00. Well worth it.

Here are a couple of tips I think may help you guys in your install.

1. Most of the wires you can find either infront/on the top or behind your fuse panel. From your 12V/Ignition/Door Trigger/Parking Light ETC. Makes for a cleaner install.

2. Use a DMM (Digital Multimeter)and not a testlight.

3. There's a good spot above (all the way up the AC vent) the Driver's kick panel to put your alarm.

Just my two cents,
Hubert

so, if i read this correctly,
| RR SPEAKER|red - white |+,-|radio harness |

would mean that the radio harness has a solid red wire taking positive to the rr spk, and a solid white taking negative, is this correct?

that is correct cherrybox. i just installed my amp and subs today in my garage and spliced an LOC into the factory wiring harness behind the stock HU. just put it all back together about an hour ago and took it for a test drive. sounds great looks stock :-)

Looks like Direct Techs to me...I was going to post that a while ago, just got too busy.

Anyhow FWIW I have a couple USAC, IASCA, and DB Drag World Championships under my belt, I suppose I can contribute to the community if anyone has questions regarding alarms, installs, techniques, and general stereo questions. Keep in mind I haven’t been too active in the car audio world since about 2003, but not much has changed regarding application. Then again I’m sure there are plenty of more current car audio people on here, but I’m available to help.

Maybe I should have started another thread for this…didn't mean to rant and hijack the thread..sorry
