Montana Road Trip w/ pics!
Hiya guys and gals. I'm not necessarily new to the site, I mainly use it for reference material and to catch up on the latest new "toys" available for our cars... sadly keeping myself from posting. But I just went on a road trip with my tC that I thought I just needed to share.
My journey started in St. Louis, MO on September 23 and worked its way to Great Falls, MT where a friend of mine lives. From Great Falls, the road took me to Glacier National Park. This was my first time in the park and there is absolutely beautiful scenery wherever you look. Some hiking was done and a lot of pictures were taken. The trip ended on September 30 and 4000+ miles later.
Anyway enough about that, the whole driving experience was so much better than I ever thought it would be. This was the first major road trip that I took by myself (well mostly) and the tC didn't dissapoint. The seats were a concern before I even left, but they were managable for the long haul for my skinny behind (or maybe my behind became numb... dunno). Not too exciting is the cruise control, but proved to be very useful until I got to the mountains. I have to say that driving long distances with the short gearing of the 5 speed is a little annoying even though I averaged 28-30 mpg cruising at 75mph. Very much negating this point was actually getting to the mountains. Twisties twisties and more twisties! I never had so much fun driving before. The pure exhiliration of downshifting and taking that tight turn with the gas down carves a smile into my face. Looking at the next turn's speed limit and trying to atleast double it just gave me the giggles. Keep note that this is coming from a guy who drives Missouri roads, so maybe I sound more excited than I should.
Anywho I'm getting more lengthy than intended here.

Canada? Did I miss something, eh? You betcha, this part of the U.S. could just as well be mistaken for Canada, donchaknow? lol
Western Montana is pretty nice, once you get to the mountains. Too bad there's a few hundred miles of absolutely nothing on the way there. The plains are calm and peaceful, but so is an empty room. We’ll probably be the first ones to buy cars with autopilot…..
