Default Buying a new Scion tC - Have a few questions!

Im sorta new here, I am thinking of getting an 07 Scion tC.

1. How reliable are they? I know toyotas are known to be reliable, but since scion is relativley new I was not sure..

2. Why do I see so many girls in scions!?

3. What is the stock HP of a 07 tC?

4. Are they relatively quick to accelrate?

5. What is their average MPG?

6. What are some good performance//apperence upgrades to get?

7. What size speakers do they use?

Thanks in advance!

1. Voted most reliable in the world last year.
2. Because they are awesome.
3. 161 or so, 138-147 at the wheels, depends on the dyno.
4. Yes, get some new pulleys and it will be really quick.
5. 19-25 city, 30-35 hwy
6. There are so many to list but here goes.
Cool air intake, window tint, lowering springs, headers, cat back exhaust, cold cathode lighting, the list goes on and on, there are just tons.
7. It's a 160 watt system and sounds great when you change the setting to "xB"

Have a great time, its a fantastic ride.
Oh yeah, and get the manual, I promise you will be happier.

1. I see them to be really reliable....havent had a problem with my tC.

2. maybe cuz they like them.....alot of guys have them

3. I believe 161 at the crank

4. its up to you....to me they are fast off the line.

5. I get around 27-30 MPG

6. depends on what your goals are. H/I/E is a good start.

7. not sure

hope that helps

Yeah I planned on Intake and Headers first, then suspension, and a really nice sound system.

How is the stock system? I like my music loud, and I listen to everything from metal to rap.

And I suck at driving stick shift, Id rather drive automatic anyways, this is going to be my daily driver, not for racing or anything.

Yeah, I said the same thing, now I'm wishing for the stick...Anyway, the stock is great and sounds fantastic for many kinds of music, I listen really loud as well and I love it. I plan on getting subs, but for now, its great. The intakes are awesome, my buddy just got one installed today and it sounds soo good.

Yeah a new intake is the first think I plan on getting.

I have driven many sticks before, and I honestly perfer automatic for daily driving, its easier.

After the intake, I plan on putting a 12 or two 10's in the back, my friend does custom cases, so depending on how much room I have, ill decided then.

1. One of the reasons I bought my tC was the reliabilty of Toyota. If Toyota is behind the Scion name then they should be very reliable cars.

2. And that's a problem for you?!!

3. Already answered...

4. Yes they do zip along rather quickly.

5. Avg I have read is about 25-28 mpg city, over 30 hwy. (Mine is 26 mpg city.)

6. Depends on which way you want to go. Better handling; full suspension upgrade. Better performance; H/I/E. Ground FX and Rear Spoiler Lip are nice too. Don't go hog-wild on accessories at the dealership! You can buy them for like 40% or more at sites like trdsparks.com and mcgeorgeparts.com.

7. 6.5" in the front and 5.25" in the rear.

I won't list everything the others said, but I recently bought an 07 tC two weeks ago and am loving it. As you can see in my signature I've already added a few mods. To me an aftermarket exhaust and intake just sound "off/awkward" on an automatic import/sports car. I'd think hard about getting a manual tranny, they are much more fun to drive in my opinion.
