oil pump
Where is your turbo mounted?
You only need an oil pump if you do something crazy
like mount your turbo under the car. When you do that it will flood the turbo. The only way to stop that is adding a secondary pump to remove the oil from the turbo (You know Gravity can be a Mother F'er!! But you can't break the laws of Physics). The major issue with that is if your pump fails and you don't know it, say goodbye to your turbo. It happened to a guy from NY that had a remote mount turbo under his civic. He didn't know his pump had failed and it killed his turbo from flooding it.
If your turbo is mounted higher than where your return line ends up, you will be fine. Gravity will do what it does best and work for you in this case. That is why most kits set the turbo up as high as possible in relation to where the return line drains back into the engine.
So depending on where your turbo is mounted will tell you if you NEED one.
PLEASE don't just WHIP ON parts you probably don't need on your ride just because someone else has it. zpi did it because they had to or the turbo would Die in a Week. It is not an upgrade. Adding an extra oil pump if you don't need it is like adding a second key to start the car. Pointless :?
