Default Help with Satelite radio....

Hey guys,

I know this question has probably been asked a million times but i cant find any good solid answers. I have an 07 TC and i wanna add Sirius but control it through my headunit. I dont wanna use an FM modulator either. Is this possible and what do i need. Part numbers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Our dealership here in Berkeley failed to tell us we needed the antenna installed to get XM or Sirius when we ordered it. The website has no mention of the unit in the configurator or elsewhere.

Aftermarket XM/Sirius units are $50-$100 at circuit city but apparently Scion has made sure that you'll need to buy the $400+ option by making their system proprietary. If anyone has found a workaround (other than a small portable in the glovebox kind of option), let me know. Has anyone tried hacking the connector kit?

Aux in with a portable is the way to go. There are also antenna in-line adaptors for about 25-30 bucks that work well.

The advantage of a protable unit is that it's portable! I have 3 cars with mounts and antennas. I also have a portable "walkman-type adaptor. And the home kit as well.

All this with ONE subscription.

I got my Sirius free when I bought my tc! Kearny Mesa Scion here in San Diego does that for all thier cars with three months free. I mentioned this as incentive to shop around, maybe another dealer has a good promo deal you can take advantage of.

The point about portability is well taken. It might be nice to bring over to the Prius once in a while.

Still, FYI... Scion.com FAILS TO LIST THE ANTENNA IN THEIR VEHICLE CONFIGURATOR.... Caveat Emptor.
