View Full Version : 2008 xB release date??? DL 12-23-2006, 03:48 AM Hello, When can I get my hands on one of these? Thanks DL 12-26-2006, 04:31 AM Hello, No ETA's??? SquallLHeart 12-26-2006, 04:34 AM hello, next year. black_sand_box 12-26-2006, 04:53 AM hello, next year. Good One!   Winter 12-26-2006, 07:52 AM it should be somewhat obviouse when the model is a ***2008***. to what i've seen, most names would bring out new models of vehicels within 3 months before the modeled year. so earliest... maybe Sept of 07... but i doubt it from what i've been reading. DFWDJ 12-26-2006, 02:16 PM I've heard from inside sources that they will have "limited" quantities available late April/early May of '07. cliffy1 12-27-2006, 02:30 PM It will probably be April. It could actually be a little earlier. I've been with Toyota for 13 years now and I have seen so many product launches that I can't even remember them all. From what I know about the order and build process, it will be April. DL 12-28-2006, 01:53 AM It will probably be April. It could actually be a little earlier. Duh, I'm with stupid.. Oh Look, an intelligent answer from someone that is over 10 on here... :loser: April 07 will be nice.. Are you located in Springfield, VA? How close is that to Gainesville, VA. I have a brother who lives there. Let me know when you are getting some 08's delivered. I may buy it from you. I don't need to finance, do you guys take cash... thanks to all you guys that didn't answer with a smart a$$ comment. black_sand_box 12-28-2006, 01:52 PM I'm 25 but I got nothin. Mid yr 07 best bet. cliffy1 12-28-2006, 02:56 PM Duh, I'm with stupid.. Oh Look, an intelligent answer from someone that is over 10 on here... :loser: April 07 will be nice.. Springfield is about 30 minutes from Gainesville and we take anything we can deposit to our bank. This is a unique web site. There are some serious insiders who know a lot more than I do and sometimes, they will slip in a bit of information that is well ahead of what is commonly known. There are also a lot of newbies who don't know the right questions to even ask. Its that mix that makes BBs like this interesting. DL 12-28-2006, 04:09 PM Duh, I'm with stupid.. They sponsor me with free tires for my Ford F-150 Lightning truck. I was introduced to some guy at Nopi in Atlanta this year. My Toyo friend said he was the head of Scion in North America. I wish I would have gotten his business card and talked to him a little more. I got interested in the xB from a friend of mine in Nashville, TN. He had bought one in the summer and I rode in it several times when I visited him. When I got home, I told my daughter that I really liked the xB and we should test drive one to see how she would like it. I've been looking for my daughter a car to drive, She's 17. I took her to my local scion dealer and let her test drive a 2006, she liked it. I'm waiting on the 2008 for more power or I would have bought her a 06. I was just joking around about whether you take cash. I know you will. I was just taking a poke at the smart a$$'s , I can take it. I don't get mad, it's the internet. black_sand_box 12-28-2006, 04:15 PM You will not be disappointed. The new xB looks sweet! cliffy1 12-28-2006, 04:17 PM Hmmm... while we're poking fun at smart a$$s, your profile says you're 25 and your post says you're looking for a car for your daughter to drive. That means you were what... 8 when you had her.   Just kidding man. I've played around on engouh BBs to recognize humor. Sometimes my humor doesn't translate well though. Either I'm not as funny as I think I am or I need to use smilies more often. :lalala: DL 12-28-2006, 05:35 PM Hmmm... while we're poking fun at smart a$$s, your profile says you're 25 and your post says you're looking for a car for your daughter to drive. I was pretty busy at 8 yrs old...lol too shey... I met some Scion xB drivers at Nopi Atlanta 06. The Scion xB car show parking spot was right behind the Nitto exhibit. seattledave 01-12-2007, 04:37 PM my step dad was just 9 years older than me, and being texas reported a 26 year old grandma a few years back, it's possible. ElChupacabra 01-12-2007, 04:45 PM From what Ive gotten out of my Toyota/Scion contacts we should see the xB replacement on lots at the earliest late March. April should be for sure. Look for the xD to be available around July. That is prett much right from the top. Mark Templin is the man who runs Scion. I have his card... :lala: CBSIMONSEZ 01-12-2007, 06:49 PM ... I have his card... :lala: And he is going to tell you anything, why? :blah: :nope: ElChupacabra 01-12-2007, 06:58 PM ... I have his card... :lala: And he is going to tell you anything, why? :blah: :nope: He's going to tell me things that are already public knowledge for sure. The production schedule for both the new models has been out for a while now. Im pretty sure I got my copy during last summer when we were all at the Round Table meeting in Baltimore... ...well, maybe not ALL of us. I simply asked Templin if the schedule was still on time. I know you guys think you're connected to corporate but apparantly you should rethink your ties. SquallLHeart 01-12-2007, 07:03 PM I know you guys think you're connected to corporate but apparantly you should rethink your ties. we all have our own contacts... i know i have mine however, you don't see me being prancing around with my chin-up acting snobbish and rude like that.. evilBOXevil 01-12-2007, 07:05 PM ^^^...and alot of guys in corporate have no freaking clue as to whats happening, anyways! :P grizzly_choppers 01-12-2007, 07:06 PM Huh, nice topic revival. Anyway, I've got my money on April sometime. Dealers should know about 3 weeks before they have any hit their lot here in the Midwest. Other transport times are a bit shorter (read: the coasts). I hope to see an allocation of new xBs on the first of April allocation. Anything before that is just gravy. Let's hope I have to make a class for the 2008 xB at the All Scion Show 4.0!!! You can learn more about the show at www.allscionshow.com!! YAY! -Alex ElChupacabra 01-12-2007, 07:10 PM I know you guys think you're connected to corporate but apparantly you should rethink your ties. we all have our own contacts... i know i have mine however, you don't see me being prancing around with my chin-up acting snobbish and rude like that. CBSIMONSEZ and I have a long history. I wasnt trying to be snobbish and rude. Well, maybe rude. I was simply throwing his nice little comment back at him... cliffy1 01-12-2007, 07:16 PM From what Ive gotten out of my Toyota/Scion contacts we should see the xB replacement on lots at the earliest late March. April should be for sure. Look for the xD to be available around July. That is prett much right from the top. Mark Templin is the man who runs Scion. I have his card... :lala: This is exactly the same info my district manager gave me. As with anything, it could be wrong, but I'm betting this is pretty close to accurate. SquallLHeart 01-12-2007, 07:26 PM CBSIMONSEZ and I have a long history. I wasnt trying to be snobbish and rude. Well, maybe rude. I was simply throwing his nice little comment back at him... ohh.. lol.. ok.. as long as everyone understands :) DL 01-12-2007, 09:56 PM What is a xD? losmorob 01-12-2007, 10:03 PM ^^ xA replacement onefunkyfreshdj 01-12-2007, 10:55 PM My source tells me that they will NOT be releasing them until the stock of current xB's are depleated/gone/done/kaput. That's why they aren't selling 07's. Maybe my guy is just an idiot I dunno.... he's batting .455 right now on the communication correctness. CBSIMONSEZ 01-13-2007, 01:34 AM He's going to tell me things that are already public knowledge for sure. The production schedule for both the new models has been out for a while now. Im pretty sure I got my copy during last summer when we were all at the Round Table meeting in Baltimore... ...well, maybe not ALL of us. I simply asked Templin if the schedule was still on time. But once again you dont convey this. You proudly tout that you have Mr. Templins card on your person, yet you havent work at Scion for months now. I know you guys think you're connected to corporate but apparantly you should rethink your ties. Im not at liberty to say what i know. WE do have real close ties to Scion corp. and its affiliates. And sometimes i think that really eats you up inside. Its all good though ... keeps things alive within the Scion community. And for some one who doesnt know .. there will be a limited amount of xB2s released at the end of March early April. ElChupacabra 01-13-2007, 03:19 PM It's all good Chris. Sorry for the previous comment. It was dumb and arrogant. I just cant help myself at times. I know you guys are connected in your own ways. Youre wroong when you say I havent worked for Scion in months though. I work for two dealerships now and other Scion related offices. My last job was a joke and I dont know why I stayed there so long... DL 01-14-2007, 02:26 AM [quote=ElChupacabra] there will be a limited amount of xB2s released at the end of March early April. Sorry, I've been in the closet . lol There will be a limited ediition 2008 xB2's released in March/April? If so, any pics available to preview? losmorob, thanks for educating me.. SquallLHeart 01-14-2007, 06:25 AM no pics will be released until chicago DL 01-15-2007, 01:13 AM no pics will be released until chicago So there will be a 2008 xB and a limited edtiion pkg 2008 xB? rogcjms 01-15-2007, 02:39 AM yeah there will probably be an RS 1.0 xB2 But i believe they wont release that info until I'd say maybe a couple of months after the release of the new xB. I believe thats how the RS 1.0 xB was... nferra2 02-14-2007, 02:49 AM I talked to someone from Scion Corporate today, he was at a tundra release event. He said that the April release was delayed to May, and he also invited us to a "Show and Go" event where we could drive both the xB and xD. He also told us we decided we wanted one at the show and go he would make sure the dealership we frequent would get one just like that in allocation... It doesn't hurt that someone in my immediatly family seems to buy a new Toyota/Scion from that Dealership every 6 months or so. RATMACHINE 02-14-2007, 03:29 AM It shows 4-15-07 as official on sale date.... cliffy1 02-14-2007, 06:39 PM It shows 4-15-07 as official on sale date.... That matches what I have heard most recently. There will be a VERY small number that will make it here on the East coast in late April with regular availability by May. lufoxe 02-14-2007, 07:11 PM It shows 4-15-07 as official on sale date.... As horrible and drug related as this is going to sound... they should've waited till 4/20/07 now THAT would be a great release date... doobie with your xB? haha Djbombsquad 02-14-2007, 08:49 PM Price? ScionSpouse 02-15-2007, 12:33 AM It can't come soon enough. My 02 Max is coming out of the shop tomorrow. Blown Mass Air Flow Sensor, $863, bad left hub & bearing, $555, bad right strut (have to replace two) $900, plus maintenance, (belts, coolant, brakes). The failures have caused Mrs. Scion to declare that we're getting rid of it, and I'm getting a cheap car ;-) midgethearsexb 02-15-2007, 07:34 AM April April April April April April April My buddy is the Manager at Brent Brown Toyota here in Utah. He has confirmed April as the release date. He has also said that they will not be given all of the exact details, including price, until 1 week before they are to be sold. We are actually having a meet down there on Saturday and I am going to get as much information as possible, but I would bet on April. Did I say April yet? toyotatodd 02-16-2007, 02:46 AM I just call my dealer and they took my downpayment payment over the phone along with some of the details of the new b. $100 They say it's refundable and will call me in when details become available. April is the month they mentioned too. As a cheap azz, this gives me time to shore up my banking through a real bank. TMCC has no deals floating around. So April or May if fine by me. Last time I did this buying new thing I ended up paying 11% APR and my 96 corolla costed WAY more than the new b could possibly. Shop around!!! toyotaisme 03-02-2007, 04:23 PM Official Relese date is May 15th but it might get here 1 week before that. losmorob 03-03-2007, 03:36 AM List Price??!!! Haven't heard a thing about the pricing. Djbombsquad 03-03-2007, 05:06 AM May? Dang why so late? What happend to April. They did say they stoped production of the current XB. WheelSee 03-03-2007, 12:58 PM Official Relese date is May 15th but it might get here 1 week before that. so it looks like I was right http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/wildeone81/Random%20Hosted%20Stuff/1170885588612784.jpg -wC Djbombsquad 03-03-2007, 04:18 PM wll that gives me a extra month to save up but I was really hoping for end of april O well. CBSIMONSEZ 03-03-2007, 07:15 PM wll that gives me a extra month to save up but I was really hoping for end of april O well. I was hoping for the end of March! That would have given me plenty of time to get what i need done to it before the big shows here in the NorthEast. Oh well. I did check with Scion and i was told that the April 15th limited release is still where its at. Like i said else where, theres nothing i can do about it, it just gives me more time to save. ExcelRevs 03-04-2007, 06:41 PM I went to my dealership yesterday, they said May as well. i was really hoping for March/April since I've been waiting since December but whats another 2 months? gizmoviki73 03-18-2007, 04:00 PM You guys be thankful, I'm in Florida, so I won't see mine till probably September, since Southeast Toyota is always last to get anything. I'm not complaining to much, more I can pay off on current xB, since trade in value stinks BIG time in my area. No dealership around me cares, that the xB is in top 10 of holding it's value. When I went to trade mine in on RS3.0, they only wanted to give me $12,000 and I owed $19,000 at the time. I'm actually go to go to the biggest dealer in my area this time, instead of the dealer I have bought my last 3 vehicles, because they will give me more. Trading in a manual is hard in old fartsville!!! Viki redneck69 03-18-2007, 05:56 PM Hmm, I only owe 8 on my '05 xb, I wonder how much they would give me for it on trade in. I was hoping that I may have 3+grand in equity since they are reselling at such high prices. Not to thread jack anyhow... On topic: List Price??!!! Haven't heard a thing about the pricing. Im curious to, haven't looked around at all, but does anyone know about pricing? paulieg 03-21-2007, 05:14 AM Well you all think your smart but your not! Maine and the extreme NorthEast are some of the last dealerships to recieve their allocations. toyotaisme 03-21-2007, 02:46 PM Just talked to the factory and all dealers will have one Xb the first week of may. Your payoff and the value of the car are not related. For example, if you owed nothing, I'm fairly certain that you'd want slightly more than nothing. |
