question about order parts off internet?
If you order part from the internet for the tC and you install the parts yourself will it void the warrenty, and if so do you have to have the dealership install the parts for you in order to retain the warrenty? How does this work? Any feedback well be great, thank you!
a lot of stuff that is easily installed (mud guards, spoiler, sway bar) shouldn't void your warranty... but if you get the springs, alarm, or other more involved items, you should have a dealer install them. hope that helps!
anything that you install on your own is not going to void the factory warrt unless the dealer can prove that the parts you installed cause problems. there is no way a dealer can void your warrt just because you put a sticker on the window. but if you install speaker on your own and fry up the ECU or cause the air bag to deploy (that doesn't happen that offten), now your screw up and the dealer can only charge you part/labor on the ECU or air bag fix, but nothing else, they can not charge you to fix the moonroof noise since they are totally unrelated.
To summarize other posts for you...
If you change parts like springs, your scion warranty will no longer apply to the springs. Now, the TRD (or whoever) warranty applys to the workmanship of the springs. But, if you install it yourself and you did a terrible job, and then because of that shoddy work the wheels fall off your car :D , that is all your fault. However, if you were to take the car to a pro shop and cough up the big bucks, then they should have a warranty of their own to guarantee the installation.
So in the end, your car is covered by Scion warranty, your springs are covered by TRD, and your installation is either covered by you, or the shop that did the installation.

Dealer told me that all toyota/trd upgrade parts will not only leave the warranty in tact, but will be covered by the warranty (pending the dealer installs.)
becomes quite pricey though.
I'd almost keep the tC as is, then get an older car to mod
