this was super easy... took off the front grill. too seconds. then popped off the emblem, cleaned and spray painted the grill flat black. Then i took the emblem, sprayed it black, dried, then took a silver sharpy and colored in the letters!!!

Um....Im a fan of black grilles on the xB. But I dont know how long that paint is gonna last.

it should last a long time.... i put 3 coats of flat black all purpose paint, then put an all purpose acrilic over it, two coats.... i did the same for my hubs and its holding fine!!

 

It depends. The spray for plastic is really resilient. I sprayed my wheel covers a little while back and they're holding up exceptionally well. Did you acrylic over the sharpie also, that stuff is notorious for rubbing off. Looks good though.

 

sure did.... i let it dry and then put a coat of acrylic over the whole emblem~~ it should hold well!~!

Looks great! I'm partial to dark grills, but yours goes the extra step with the negative emblem. Nice touch.

My boyfriend did the same thing to his black G35, and there are a few chips and it sucks, but they aren't too noticable luckily!

I liked the look too but bought a BSP used one cause I could bring myself to mess up my BCP one. Plus I can go back and forth depending on my mood. I also did the chrome molding thing to the black one. it looks sweet and still matches the lower ones.

 

I couldn't stand to mess up my original PW one, either, so there's a take-off from a BOP xB on the front of mine...my original PW is in my storeroom.
