Default E Brake Light

I need help with this one because I feel that it is the start of a bigger problem. When I am in first gear and I accelerate my Brake light comes on and some times it happens in second gear. This started about a week ago and is getting worse every day. I Thought it mite be my alternator going out but i have a voltage meter in my radio and it stays around 13.3 to 14V all the time. Has anybody had a similar problem? Any Ideas?

SERIOUSLY!! You have been on here long enough to know where the search button is. It has been posted ATLEAST 20 times, NO JOKE. Sorry but it's early for me.

And i'll even be nice and tell you what it is. CHANGE YOUR BRAKE PADS. It's that simple

It's ok. I understand. I am not a morning person AT ALL either. But seriously, Just change out you're "front" pads and the light will IMMEDIATELY stop

Just for some clarification, and to help you explain issues easier later on, it really isnt an ebrake light. It also comes on if there is any other abnormal pressure differential (like in the case of a leaky caliper), low fluid, ebrake on, etc. So it is just a brake light. Just dont want anyone thinking that if it comes on it is "just the ebrake" when it could be something more serious.

But yes, if the pads are worn down close to the point of needing replaced, the light will come on due to the drop in fluid level. If this is the problem, then dont add fluid before changing the pads... or you will make a big mess when you compress the piston to install new pads Brake fluid is not painted metals friend :D
