Default Can i replace my 225/40/18 with 235/45/18 on TRD springs?

Hi, im kinda unsatified with my tires right now and was wondering when it is time to change tires can i put on bigger tires?

My friend said get wider tires to protect the lip more and get a taller tire to make the ride a bit more comfortable.

is this ok if i have TRD springs??? Will i rub??? and will the exta width stick out more to protect my chrome lip? or should i look for rim protector tires?

It's hard to say, there are so many variables. If you have something really close to the stock offset and rim width, I'd day you'll be fine. You should know that the tire profile on a 235/45 is going to be even taller than a 235/40. Remember, the first number is the width in mm and the second is the profile thickness as an expression of the tire width as a percentage.
