i blew my motor yesterday. my motor in knockinm real bad. i only got 30 k on it. i need some advice to have ready so when the dealership start talkin.. u know dealer always find things to not fix ur ____. let me know what i could do in this situation.
If you have aftermarket stuff and you were racing they have full reason not to fix your stuff. Take the blame and suck it up, instead of making the company pay for your stupid decision.
Not that you'll obey me, just letting you know that you're pulling a dick move.

guess you should get ahold of zpi and exchage your rebuildable engine core for one of their build engines...drool...7500 rpm redline... get their stand alone engine management...you'd have a pretty tight tc.
So you were drivin the s#!t outta it street racing and blew the motor.. and you want it covered under warranty? IMO you should bit the bullet and fix it yourself. Dont rip off Toyota because you damaged it.
yea but pushing an engine is no reason for it to just stop working... These engines should be made to take the strain of well over a 100k miles let alone 30k miles... It was probably defective as there are always defects with any products. People have modded and pushed these engines much harder than just an intake and provided you installed everything correctly I say take it back. You probably had a crap part in your car that messed everything. The dealer will try to blame it on anything they can, so swap back to stock and take it in.. Also the computers can tell that you were pushing it hard so just tell them the truth about that and deny having ever installed any other parts..
its not really a dick move on his part, its a dick move on the dealer to avoid warranty work...

this is not the first toyota i had. i brought 2 tc and a corolla and and tacoma and they all been drivin hard and they still up and runnin. i know toyota motor hold up and i dont think by me drivin it hard once in a while will mess up the motor. that why i caught me by surprise. it not lilke i had a turbo or anything. but i will get tow to the dealership 2morrow.
yea i dunno why peopl think racing a motor should blow it... if thats the case toyota should have lowered the redline even further to like 3500, this way you are sure to be safe, lol..
i dunno, id be ____ed if my engine went with so few miles and with hardly any added parts..

It has nothing to do with lowering redline. Rev limiters, redline, etc dont in any way keep someone from abusing it. You can blow up a race built engine just as easy by poor driving. High rev clutch dumps, bouncing off the rev limit and general abuse can tear up any motor.
If it is under warranty, have it fixed..no need to pay the extra money. I agree you should keep racing off the street and on the track
, but still 30k should be nothing for these engines.
Someone had mentioned something about a "black box" that will tell the dealership your driving habits. I am not so sure about that, I have experience with programming Honda ECU's and the ecu alone don't retain any information like that. You actually have to mod it with datalogging to use with Neptune, Chrome, Uberdata, etc or something of that nature to adjust real-time and record your pulls. But I have no experience with Toyota's ecu's. Good luck..

well we will see what they say at the dealership ive givin toyota to much money in the past and no problem with any of the vechile and now that i have one i hope they dont bs.
my friend also has a turbo tc and he drive it harder than i do and he got more that 20 k on wit the turbo on and all his internal are stock. so by me drivin it hard once in a while will mess up my motor.

I'm not saying that not properly driving the pedals and shifter is in any way good for the car but what I am saying is 30k miles with an intake is no real reason for an engine to blow... Unless the majority of the time was poor dirving or there was a problem with the intake install, I'm thinking that the damage came from a defective part. It only seems like the most logical answer to me...
You need to take everthing off and ask around maybe too see how to reset that E.C.U .
If you can't then take it in and let them figure it out for themselves. You need to ask them What would happen if you were just accelerating onto the freeway and your motor blew and you were to get hit because of a defective motor.not too good.besides they have to have a way to clear those ecu's.
