Default new scion xa owner help w/ accessories

I want to hear about the accessories you all purchased. what were must haves? what could you have done without? and what could you have gotten cheaper elsewhere?

i just got a black scion xa and am thinking of the following options
spoke allow wheels $665
scion security $499
rear spoiler $385

for a grand total of $1549. ouch. =(

but anyhow. what are your thoughts?

Don't buy from the dealer...shop online

here's your rear spoiler for over $100 cheaper than the scion price: http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...7&parts_id=337

Default thanks

though, the spoiler and the rims might actually be better to get from the dealer. when you factor the cost of shipping and labor the prices are close. the price on the security system is a gem though (hope it isn't too hard to install).

Let the dealer do the rear spoiler...less headache...

wheels you can get anywhere and still keep your old rims for winter or to sell to someone for their winter setup.....

And I haven't found anybody happy with the factory security....

I got the rear spoiler, fog lights and 17' Enkei's as options, and even tho I overpaid for the wheels I would get the same options all over again.

I got my xA completly stock. If I had the money I would have liked to have goten the scion security. Wheels are best bought elsewhere, A spoiler would be nice to have but even online that still seems too expensive.

But the best accessories are not the ones you buy from the dealer, but the ones that you do yourself. My favs accessories are lights, ex. cathodes in the foot wells, LEDs in the oven, and some extra LEDs on other parts. DIY projects are a hassle but in the end I think it makes the car look more unique.

Circuit City sells Viper/Pythons from 250 up installed. Will these work fine with our xAs for keyless entry/security/etc? Or will anything special also be needed? I've been looking at the two way security systems/RKE with the LEDs on the keychain.

when i was a mobile install tech at bestbuy, we would instal standard keyless entry and security with the cost of the unit and install price you were quoted.

now with the kill switch, tilt alarm, pressure alarm, auto start, and blah blah, those were all extra. extra for parts to make them work, and extra for labor.

we used to block out 4-6 hours of our daily work time for one car (one person on it) just for standard alarm and keyless entry, and these people have done 1000's of installs and get them done QUICK.

that should give you a little heads up on how hard it is to install, and what extra features will add to that.
