Default I think i should of went with 17s

Check it, I just got my 18"falken torque 5s (24lbs) with toyo proxes4 225/40r18 (22.3lbs). I usually don't drive that hard cause i have my daughter in the car, but when she's not in it sometimes i gun it at a light or 2. I always lose traction in first and im always able to chirp 2nd good. But now that i got my 18"s i cant burn out or chirp second. So my question is do i just have alot better traction with my proxes or is my wheels just so damn heavy over stock that i have ruined my acceleration. I think its the second one just wanted to know from someone with experience with 18s this is my first pair. thanx

seems like your driving.
im running the trd 18's (22 pounds i think) with the highest level bridgestone pole positions (i cant remember the number) they have the most traction ive ever experienced out of a street tire and i can still chirp 3rd stock.

maybe witht he warmer weather, your tires are sticking better and they won't chirp so readily. or maybe your clutch is getting soft?

guys - quick question a bit to the left of this topic. I have the stock wheels and am either going to go with the Super 7 or the TRD 18". are the TRD wheels lighter than stock? Toyota says the Super 7 are the same weight. As for tires - definitely the Toyos! I even noticed that the TRD site specifically recommends them now.

honestly, My handeling is 10 times better. The only downfall is the ride is alot rougher and on big dips that i cant avoid, i have a slight rubbing issue on the front drivers side Other than that id reccomend goin with 18's.I still have stock struts so that explains it.
