I been ignoring this thread forever, so i'm late too.
I experience this noise even when the car is hot. I.E. arriving home from work. Cluch in, no noise. It's never concerned me, but I wanted to state that I am right there with you.

Default Same problem

I have the same problem, I took it to the dealer back in December , they were cool and changed it (input shaft rear bearing) the mechanic told me that Toyota knows about the issue but they have kept it quiet. Anyways, after a few months I noticed the noise again, but really low, didn't pay much attention, it got louder with time, now lest than 10k miles after repair I just noticed today that the noise is noticeable again when inside the car and quiet. Going to the dealer tomorrow to see what they say, I will make myself clear that I don't want another bearing, I would rather have a new transmission. If they give me headache I'll complaint to the corporation. Now I know I need to get away from this car

I went yesterday, left the car at the dealership, they said sound its normal, they are full of crap. I told them, how is it normal when you guys did it on December and sound went away? The guy couldn't even talk. I'll drive the car a few thousands miles more, then I'll go again to complain about it. Anyways, I'm just disappointed at this car, can't way to get rid of it
