Default Cruise Control Install – Bay Area, California

Can anyone refer me to a shop in the Bay Area/Northern California that can install a Rostra cruise control on my xB? My dealer in town has never done one, so I would hate to get a bill for the install thzt is 2-3 times the cost of the unit.

It looks pretty basic, but I would hate to mess things up.

Or, are there any other after market cruise control options for the xB?

The answer is there is a special old SOUTHEAST TOYOTA distributorship that manages all the Toyotas from Texas to Florida. SE Toyota does what it wants and is independant of all the other Toyota distributors for the U.S.

That's why you hear about dealer installed (or port installed) cruise control in Texas, but not in California.

That's how I've heard the story several times.

Dealers out there: Is my explanation fairly accurate? RPM

well that ____ blows. man i wish i had the option. cruise is just nice on the freeway cuz for me it keeps my gas down cuz i'm always going faster and speeding up all the time. cruise is the cure. i guess thats the benefit that the east coast gets for waiting longer for scions more options.

No dealer option here either so I got the Rostra cruise control from eBay ($200) and put it on myself. I have an auto so not sure how hard a manual would be but it was actually really easy to do. It shows exactly where to go for the wires as well in the instructions.
