I am installing custom seats in my xB. :?

Can someone with a repair manual tell me the wiring diagram for the three-wire plug that connects to the passenger seat? In other words, what each colored wire is for?

My airbag light stays lit (yes I know what the plug is for) and I want to see if I can wire the plug to turn the light off.

If you could also do the driver's plug info for me too, I'd really appreciate it!

I had no idea that the Service Manuals were on Scion Life. Although it seems that only the first page of each section is available.

 

Not sure what you mean? The parts that are grey, are still there. The grey just shows it countinues from the last page. I know a good part of the manual is on there, or the the xA. I got a little over 90mb worth of the manual saved to my HD for when I need it.

 

On the drivers side theres a little magnet that needs to be unscrewed off of the bottom of the seat. Same goes for the passender side. the magnet just sticks to your seat brackets. take it off the stock seat and plug it back into the harness under the seats.

 

I looked and looked but couldn't find anything in the manuals in there that's that specific. I can find the wire and the connector, but no description of the colors or the individual plugs in the harness.

 

You're right. I didn't see the box where you can click to back pages. I wish I knew about this sooner. I got a months pass ($50) to the manuals on the Toyota Tech site a while back and spent ____ loads of time downloading the pdf's.

I think it's great that the manuals are posted (if only in part) on Scionlife... I'm sure they'll be a real help in the future.

Still hoping someone can help me solve this problem. it'll be beneficial to those contemplating installing aftermarket seats.

 

As an update, all the wiring can be removed from the factory seats without too much hassle.

The passenger seat butt sensor is a flat tape that looks like a circuit-board. I reached up under the lower cushion fabric, lifted it up from the foam and it pulled right out.

On the driver's side, the damn seat track sensor is a torx screw. Had to cut it off with a Dremel.

My new seat brackets from Wedge Engineering have bolt holes for the factory hardware to remount the OEM seatbelt receivers. Nice touch. I now have my factory belts with the aftermarket seats and the seat belt warning lights stay off. :D
